It's getting a little chillier here too but as I never go out it probably won't matter to me.

I had written quite a bit and left the site by clicking on a new tab to check on the spelling of a word and when I came back to finish, what I'd done had been wiped away. Sad I'm tired and hungry, need to have some lunch, so will re do some other time.

Stay well and safe everyone.

I've had this idea for quite awhile but was afraid to try it! It worked!

Thank you MW.
The poster of the girl was for my granddaughter who was a music major in college. She has two degrees: one in music and one is teaching and is going for a masters in teaching, I think. I painted another poster with the same girl but different colors in clothes for her younger sister with the background of a city at night. Loosely patterned after Chicago where they loved to visit.
Each one took me two years. I wanted to get them right.

Thank you BG.

Sooner or later I'll get a few more posted. I use my iPhone to take a picture then send it to myself in e-mail and then download the pictures to pictures on my computer, and Then put them in my art folder so can find them quicker. There's probably an easier way to do all that but I figured it all out myself and it works. Smile
A few ladies from my line dancing class , and myself, have been meeting at a home in McHenry County, to dance and visit. Our hostess called her mayor to make sure it was OK to do. And it was. So we did. Fun to dance again though we were all terrible at first, lol, but now we're getting back into it. We take breaks and chat and have a snack and are there for more than a few hours, so it's really nice to get out.
My cousin said it was too bad that we missed our chance to have some excitement with police showing up.
I disagree as I think it would have been worry some, not a good experience.
I've got two more big paintings to finish( having trouble with the finches and lilac painting, I will admit. Bit, when I get them done plan on taking a week off painting to work on young grandson's quilt. Am determined to finish it.

Loving your art and looking forward to more.
A bit jealous of you going dancing.

They are lovely Gram. I used to line dance when I was younger, a lot younger. I remember one song in particular, "Achy Breaky Heart," by Billy Ray Cyrus. That was fun.

Hi everyone sunny

I hav' had so little time to play Sims or even visit forums lately.
I miss the contact with you all.

Hubby in homeoffice with no travelling at the moment has all kind of projects around the house.
We finished the adjecting neighbor's wall with natural stone tiling and renovated the pool.

before:

From the Back Porch to the Patio 2017 - 2018 - 2020 - Page 12 Schwim10

not very good picture, the pool is covered with the summer cover (bubble foil) the wall was raw under the wood panelling. I had to paint the lower part every three years.

Now:

From the Back Porch to the Patio 2017 - 2018 - 2020 - Page 12 Dsc_0010

We don't have a cover yet, we are looking for a hard cover solution.

We have been working on this more than two months and yesterday we filled the pool the first time this year, I'm sooo happy it is done. Celebrate

@Gram:
I love your paintings. Painting and quilting, you are my kind of girl! high five
along with cooking they are my favourite things to do, when I have spare time

And I'm on the run again, there is a 10l bucket full of berries waiting to be processed.

Have a nice Sunday all of you, stay safe and healthy,
Le

@lionpaws Your pool looks inviting. I love the stone. Have fun with your berries. It's so nice to have them fresh and not store bought.

Thank you everyone for liking my paintings.
That is a beautiful looking pool, lionpaws.
EQ I'm just glad I can dance again and that the awful pain in my legs has left for the time being. Had a procedure yesterday in my left shoulder so it's sore today and I can't go out in the heat because it could aggravate the healing. Procedure is to lighten the pain in my neck on left side which has been making me miserable. Hope to get things done before anymore flareup's.
Having a heatwave here in the Midwest of the USA. Air conditioning is a blessing but sometimes I just have to go outside to get out of the house.
I got Disney + the other day so I could see the movie Hamilton. Had to watch it on my computer ( didn't know it wouldn't go on my TV ) but it was a great show. Getting Disney+ for the year was less than what a ticket to see it downtown Chicago would have been and if I feel I'm not watching Disney enough I'll cancel at the end of the year.
My oil paint teacher is trying to open up her class's again. I had to decline again since I can't paint with a mask on and wear my glasses. I find the mask limits my field of vision anyway. lol It's a challenge to shop with mask and glasses.
MW have you watched 'Dead To Me' on Netflix? I hope season 3 comes soon.
Stay safe everyone.

@ Gramcrackers No I haven't watched 'Dead to Me' yet. I just watched the synopsis and it looks interesting. Every time I see that title it reminds me of 'Dead Like Me'. That was an interesting show. It was a TV series in 2003-04.

Hello to all! RL has been keeping me so busy. I have hardly had time to open my game the past several months. Having my son and husband home full time sure has changed my computer usage. No matter how caught up I think I am, it never lasts. Someone always needs me to stop what I am doing and do something for them. Life of a wife and mother I guess.

I love seeing your pool @lionpaws!

@Gramcrackers I loved Dead To Me thumbs up

@MerryWiddow I remember Dead Like Me. I think Prime has it.

I hope everyone is well. We are. The virus seems to be getting bad again around here. Last week Indianapolis issued an order for masks to be worn in all public spaces.

Today the Mayor of the town we do most of our landscaping work in issued the same type of order. We shouldn't have to wear a mask for work as long as we can keep social distancing in place. I read an interesting order, if you're in a restaurant and sitting at a table you don't have to wear a mask but anyone walking around must have a mask on.

Yesterday I finally allowed my son to get his hair cut. We use the salon at our Walmart. We were lucky that our stylist was the only one working and she had not had an appointment yet. We had to wear masks.

We had to walk through the Walmart to get to the salon since they are only allowing one door to be used. There was a poor sole standing outside in the terrible heat, with a mask on, directing the traffic in and out. I'd say about 50 percent of the customers were wearing masks but not much social distancing seemed to be taking place.

That was the first time I had been in any type of store since all this started. My husband has been doing all the shopping. He wears a full face painters mask with a filter on it. At first people were teasing him while he was shopping but now, especially since things seem to be getting bad again, nobody bothers him much.

Take care of yourselves! Heart

@Buttonsginger I'll have to take a look around Prime and see if I can't find 'Dead Like Me'. I wouldn't mind seeing it again.

They haven't lifted the social distancing or the wearing of masks around here at all yet. I haven't left my apartment, even for mail, since March. I'm not going to until this is completely over. I get all deliveries contact less and pay by credit card or e transfer. One of the delivery services is nice enough to get my mail while they are here. It is a local service that will shop for anything you need and bring it to your door.

I only have one person come in once every two weeks to do my laundry and clean a little. She does wear a mask and gloves while here. She also keeps up the social distancing. I also wear a mask while she is here. She also gets my mail for me when she takes the laundry down.

I had a neighbour come by, just to my door a couple of day ago. She had phoned and said she baked some peanut butter cookies and would I like some. I love them and couldn't resist, but asked her for only two as they were not gluten free.

Katie came by a couple of weekends ago with John. They wore masks the whole time they were here and kept their distance. The only exception on the distance was when Katie cut my hair. She is a dog groomer as well as a Veterinary Technician. I told here to think of me as a poodle.  lol!

It was great seeing her here again. Stay well and safe everyone.

I think it's scary out there. So far the places I've had to go there haven't been many people and they have work masks.
As far as I can find out there have been no or few cases in this area. But I still don't like going out.
I agree with you MW that shopping on line is the safest way to shop.
Neighbors are congregating in the gazebo next door, a little park by the stone stairs that go down to a dock where people who live here can fish. I don't mind chatting with a neighbor when I'm out walking but that group is just too big.
The neighbors living in this corner of the pond get together Friday and or Saturday evenings/nights around a fire pit thing and drink. A lot. Sometimes it gets rowdy and or loud but that's not happening so much now. Was very hard on me when choir had early church. That's not a problem now.
Stay safe everyone.

PS. Last Tango in Halifax was very good. Hated to have it end. Now I'm getting into The Marvelous Mrs. Mazel but that's on Prime. My son had to hood me up with that as I could not figure it out.

Oh dear, no one has been here! Has it really been a month since I was here?
The time goes so fast anymore.
I went with my youngest and family to daughter-in-law's parents 'cabin' in a camp, by a lake, up in Wisc. a few weeks ago. The 'cabin' was a nightmare to me. No one ever dusts or fixes up or cleans. I had to clean a fan before I'd use it. Must not have been cleaned in a decade. Filthy thing with big clots of dust. I'm allergic to too much dust and was worried I'd end up sick. Anyway, they wanted me to see a cabin that was for sale there. Daughter-in-law's family has been going up there all her life. She said her grandfather & his brother bought the former bible camp and it used to be full of relatives. The kids want this cabin and I had to see it cause they want my help to get it! lol It is a lovely, modern cabin. The owner and his son totally renovated it, inside and out. The kids think they want to stay up there all summer. I can't see that.
I won't be going back up there until I can stay with them in the new cabin.

I've been painting with watercolors these past few months. Getting pretty good, too. lol I started fooling around with some watercolor pencils I had ( where they came from I don't remember!) and was fascinated with the whole process.
I would draw a picture with the pencils then color it in , heavy or light, where
I wanted color. Not too bad.Smile Lately I started a 12X12" picture of autumn woods with my real watercolors. Forgot to take pictures but will do so. Hopefully soon.
I've also been back to working on finishing the squares for Grandson's quilt. Must be done this year as he's going to be 7 this fall. Then I get to work on one for his sister!Surprised
Be well everyone!

I'm glad you are keeping well and busy Gram. I would also be appalled by all that dust. Sounds like a lovely place to spend the summer, but the summer is almost over now.

I'm keeping well and busy too.

Hi @Gramcrackers @MerryWiddow

Wow, sounds like a not so comfy trip Gram. Having a family cabin will be fun. Try to post some pictures of your paintings here.

My son is doing well with his online school.  We are bracing for a covid-19 surge here, with the University and local schools with in person classes and labor day weekend,  officials expect there to be a jump in cases.

I've been keeping busy with work and having everyone home all the time leaves me little game time.

From the Back Porch to the Patio 2017 - 2018 - 2020 - Page 12 20200910
I have been knitting.  Here's my most current completed project.  The cables on the hat are just slipped stitches and not actual knitted cables. That's Joe on my shoulder, he like to sit there while I knit. Silly turtle.

Hope this finds everyone well. BaloonHeart

That's a pretty hat BG and a colourful turtle.

I would think they would be doing university and college classes online. Stay safe and healthy.

Thank you @ MerryWiddow!

I would have thought online would have been the way to go too but apparently there is a lot of money to be lost not having students on campus.  Mad

The University President expelled several students and closed a co-op house because they violated the mask/gathering numbers allowed rules set  by the university.

I just got an email from my son's school that another student tested positive for COVID-19.  That makes three. I heard on the local news that this last case caused the girl's soccer team to have to quarantine for two weeks.

Have a great weekend!

I think they are definitely jumping the gun on the leniency. Isolation is the only way to fight something like this. Too bad it can also effect the economy. People are not patient enough to wait for COV19 to truly run it's course and be gone before resuming business as usual.

How can you possibly keep social distancing in soccer? It is a close contact sport. My grandson also is back to the classroom. He says they are going only half a day. I wondered is half the students are in the morning and the other half in the afternoon. Removing half the desks would help to maintain social distancing.

I will have a good weekend and you hope you are yours will also.

That's a cute hat, BG. LOL I love the turtle on your shoulder! I've been enjoying the knitting in the game. My Sims are going to make everything. Probably. Well, it will be close.

Only one grandson is still in college and he says he attends some classes but the class is small and alternates days. The rest he does digitally. I feel bad for him that he has to miss out on the real college experience but he did go two years at the Junior College. ( Which now has classes for a 4 year degree. ) He's the one with Cancer but still doing OK with tumors not growing. His twin graduated last Spring. No ceremony this time but he's so glad to be working fulltime. He has been working at Jewel food stores since high school and did his studies so he could make a career of it. He wants to manage a store. He's so ambitious.
The younger grandkids are now home schooled. Their school opened but daughter-in-law wants to keep them safe at home. Grandson had pneumonia 3 times in a row last year so I think she's being very smart in protecting the children.
I've already started tearing down my patio pot gardens. Took out the tomato plants even though they were still producing small fruits and the zucchini and one pepper. Have one pepper plant left that wouldn't cooperate in leaving it's pot. The flowers are still looking pretty and hopefully will for another month. Replaced the large tomato plant with a potted arrangement I got for good price at Home Depot and it looks so much better now.

I am so sad about losing EQ. I'm sure everyone is. Had to go as I've started crying again. Love to all.
