Good ol Twallan. Always eager to tweak things for us. applause

I'm waiting to see what the gurus come up with for a fix.
I keep watching the thread that SimGuruCopeland started.
Hoping they come up with something good prior to Thanksgiving as I seriously doubt any of them will want to do more than nap or continue to recover from their turkey comas on Friday. ROFL!

I have the gardening station inside my greenhouse. Still experimenting though as it is just barely autumn. Have not hit winter yet.

And my guess is that EA will be closed on Friday. Every office I have worked in in CA has been closed that day, so I suspect that they will be closed too.

I just read this which I thought was interesting:

Traditionally the beginning of the Christmas shopping season in the United States, "Black Friday" is not a holiday under that name, but California and some other states observe "The Day After Thanksgiving" as a holiday for state government employees. Virtually all schools, colleges and universities are also closed, along with many non-retail private sector businesses.

Lots of areas treat the day after Thanksgiving as a holiday. Simple reason.. Lots of families like to head out on Wednesday afternoon and spend the weekend with relatives.

Unfortunately, EA has some required tweaking to do. Roofing pieces need to act like actual roofing, Plants and even the weeds planted inside need to not go dormant or get all frosty looking during the winter, gotta kill the unfinished room moodlet for greenhouse spaces without floor tiles. And sims need to be able to plant indoors (Specifically in the greenhouse spaces) without having to resort to moveobjects.

I have that problem with plants getting frosty inside. Is that just always? The edge around the flowerbed also is covered with snow.

I do hope they fix this soon. I was gifted this wonderful set but have not had a a lot of time this week to play with it due to school; however my daugher built a indoor pool using the greenhouse pieces and was disappointed when it rained in her pool. I am hoping they get it to function as a greenhouse would and allow plants all year long.

The only things I have seen involve using roofing tiles under the greenhouse roof pieces. Or the use of 3rd Party Custom Content. The available game roof tiles shut out the light and makes the space indoors. That means you cannot plant in the ground. But you can use the planting pots indoors. All trees still require outdoor space even with the pots unless you use MOO to place them. I have experimented with the Garden Station and it is a great help to keep plants watered without the lawn sprinklers.

I used Inge's tiles which are clear and let in light. Also, I did not enclose the 2 planted areas totally and so was able to plant there . A bit silly, but this is Sims. These are the only pics I could find at the moment. I have it set up with seasonal decor.

Well, they outted us an updated Greenhouse yesterday.

WoW whatta pain getting the old one uninstalled is going to be.
Can't just click "kill the greenhouse set" ya know. DOH!

So here I go... Taking the easy way out again. Saying the heck with it and doing the uninstall, reinstall all the store crud once again. (Yes I remembered to make a backup of my saves first. Razz ).

Already have local copies of all my store sets/items. So it'll be quicker than trying to locate and remove all the "old" greenhouse bits. Uninstall crud.. Delete ALL cache files.. Reinstall all the crud including updated greenhouse set.

SO much fun. Suspect Rolling Eyes Suspect ROFL

OH! link to thread.. Stone's Throw Greenhouse Season's Update! *12/13*

Copied vital files to desktop.
Deleted cache files.
Uninstalled from launcher.
Closed launcher.
Deleted new cache files.
Installed new version of Greenhouse.
Now.... where did I use this thing in my game.
Will have to look after work.

Oh good. I'll uninstall and re-download. I have not used it yet in game because of all of the problems with it. I have used the fertilization station but not the house itself or roof pieces.

I just got a chance to test this. I can confirm that it is no longer snowing or raining in my greenhouse, however when I planted 2 tomatoes and 2 lettuce during winter they still showed as being dormant. I do not know if this is because I planted them in winter so I am going to set up a new Sim and start from scratch in a world with all seasons on and see how it goes.

I have it in one save( the snowy one) and I don't want to loose the save so I dont know if I'll even attempt it.

I must have just been too tired last night to notice but I just went back into my game to play around with the greenhouse again and noticed that a bunch of my store content was missing despite the fact that I backed up the downloads directory. They just poofed! I am going though my purchase history now and redownloading and this time they are getting backed up on a flash drive too! I have a lot of store content and its going to take a while to get it all!

Ouch! When you are done be sure to save a copy of DCCache and DCBackup folders since that is where your downloaded content is stored.

Its all fixed now and properly backed up. Testing the Greenhouse and so far no issues. Still have to use pots or moo to plant but I can live with that. Waiting for winter to roll around to see what happens.

Very glad the greenhouse is finally fixed! Not using it, the old one, but do have that gardening station and wondering if that needs to be removed.
