I think the post meant as long as the room was open to outdoors it would not be considered inside and no unfinished room mood etc.

So if the room is open to the outdoors....won't the Zombies walk right in and eat the plants...oh....I guess we'd better add a fence to the lot around the open area. Maybe it shows one in the work around, I haven't really had time to look at it closely.

I Think I am simply going to use the glass tiles, cover the floors, put in a couple floor drains and use pots in the green houses I build. More realistic anyway. Some RL houses may have dirt floors but other than a botanical garden, I've never seen one without potted plants. Rolling Eyes

On another note: Seems this greenhouse DOES come with a pot.

So, an arch should be used instead of a door. And a fence around it to keep out the Zombies. like BG said.

The bare floor does the same thing.

Laughing Oh, for Pete's sake! Think I'm sorry I got the darn thing. Just wanted to keep some plants through the winter for Sims to use in making elixirs.

I love seasons. The greenhouse venue is pretty cool too I think. Still haven't made a greenhouse for my family yet. I'll try that soon. *hugs all*

If the arch goes into a wall it is still considered a doorway and the enclosed room would be considered indoors. I am betting a fence and gate replacing the missing wall might do the trick.
Have been out all afternoon (a rare occurrence ) but hope to get a chance to play with this a bit.

I was also thinking about trying to CAS some flooring to look like dirt to get rid of the unfinished moodlet or finding some that look like dirt. I got the glass floor tiles so messing around with a garden in the center of the house. Keeps the zombies out!

Yay. I do not have the new venue yet but have been playing around with indoor gardens so these are perfect to protect the plants! My werewolf has a sun room off his house for plants since his world is all winter.

I found the greenhouse beautiful but perfectly useless. It does not act/function like a greenhouse. So I tore it down. Crying or Very sad Then I heard from a fellow Simmer that the garden doesn't grow nor are all the plants fully grown by end of Autumn for a Sim to harvest them. I haven't tested this and did think it odd.

I placed it and tested it out. Plants harvestable when placed.
I left it as it was created and did not modify it.
Makes me wonder what happened for that person.

The plants weren't changed at all. So harvest times are just as they were prior to Seasons. Pretty much dependent on when they were planted or last harvested.

Sounds to me like OP is being a bit too picky expecting things to act way too much like RL.

Then again, plants in a greenhouse are "supposed" to grow year round and not necessarily be harvestable on a specific seasonal schedule.

Unfortunately, EA has some required tweaking to do. Roofing pieces need to act like actual roofing, Plants and even the weeds planted inside need to not go dormant or get all frosty looking during the winter, gotta kill the unfinished room moodlet for greenhouse spaces without floor tiles. And sims need to be able to plant indoors (Specifically in the greenhouse spaces) without having to resort to moveobjects.

I use tiled floors and pots in my sims' greenhouse. Weeds still get frosty in the winter (not right) but it is more realistic. I don't recall ever visiting a greenhouse where the plants weren't potted.

I posted over on Twallan's forum about the dormant issue and he said it should be easy enough to fix so hopefully he adds it to Master Controller or makes a mod for it Smile I also asked him about being able to plant inside without MoveObejcts on but he said he had not figured that one out yet.
