PostSubject: Basic questions (and a couple not so basic)   Fri Aug 03, 2012 2:30 pm

I just read a description in someone else's blog regarding the use of "First-Person Mode", as in while in that mode, his sim could not see where he was going because he was sitting to low.

What is First Person Mode?

Earlier, I had been downloading vehicles for the game and found some double-decker London buses and began wondering that since there were two of 'em, perhaps there is some way to substitute one or the other for the taxi or schoolbus?

Have you ever played a FPS (First Person Shooter) video game? In that mode you do not usually see the face of the character you control during game play. Same for "First-Person Mode". You would get down to eye level of your Sim.

Well, then. How does one go about doing so?

Unless someone has some sort of Mod there is no true First Person mode for playing the Sims.
Cameraman mode would probably be about as close as it gets to that. just do your best to get the camera to a Sims eye view of your world. I would use this more for picture taking and perhaps for making a video. I love to take pictures of my Sims and sometimes use the Tab key for cameraman mode to get a straight on view. Videos are a little more tricky since they need to follow your Sim(s) around.
Perhaps someone else can explain it better or maybe I am not understanding the question or reference.

I don't think it's possible to go in to first person in the game unless it's a mod. I've seen a few mods where people let the camera be lowered all the way down to the floor though. The tab button is probably your best bet and it's great for taking pictures.
