PostSubject: 10-20-20 Legacy   Wed Mar 14, 2012 2:42 am

I never succeeded in playing a legacy. All the score counting got me confused too soon, and some had restrictions so hard it got frustrating.
So I decided to make my own.
My main goal are ten generations. I want each parent and heir to have a different LTW and Career to keep the gameplay interesting throughout the generations.
That makes 10 generations, 20 LTW, 20 Careers (10-20-20 Basic Legacy) That adds up to 50 points, if you like to keep score.
In case you'd like to add other features to gain points, something you liked or enjoyed in other legacies, feel free and do so for your personal version. This is meant only as a base for beginners like me.

RULES

GOAL

10 generations
20 different LTW
20 different careers carried through to level10
The linage (male or female) depends on the gender you choose for founder.

START

A: Founder
- Choose or create a character, young adult, male or female.
- Name, last name of founder should be carried through the ten Generations
- You can choose all traits,LTW, likes, career, etc. (start out whith what you are comfortable with)
B: Location
- Choose a world you want to play
- Put your founder in a 60x60 or bigger empty lot-
C: Gameoptions
- Aging “on”
- Story progression “on”
- Lifespan “long” or “normal” if you are up for a greater challenge

CHEATS

Cheats are NOT allowed
Exception: building cheats (MoveObjects, ConstrainFloorElevation, etc.)

SCORE

1 point for each Generation – equals 10 points
- The point is earned when the heir/ess grows up into Young Adult
1 point for each achieved LTW – equals 20 point
- The counting sums up the LTW of founder/heir and spouse’s throughout the generations.
- Only the first achieved LTW per person counts.
- Keep track on the LTW you used, achieved or not.
1 point for each career reached level ten – equals 20
- The Counting sums up the careers of Founder/heir and Spouse throughout the generations.
- Only one count per person.
- Keep track of the careers you reached level10.

SPOUSES

- Your founder (and thereafter your heir) can choose any spouse he/she thinks capable of giving him/her an heir, achieve a LTW and reach the top of a career.
- Vampires are allowed (also see: Vampires)
- LTW : - if your chosen has a LTW you haven’t played, you keep it.
- - if his/her LTW was already used in your legacy, let him/her earn 10,000 lifetime reward point and purchase “Change Lifetime Wish “ (also see: Lifetime Rewards)
- - select the next suggested LTW you haven’t used before. If all suggested have already been used, go to more options (…), find the current LTW of the spouse and go down the list one by one to the next unused Wish you can find-
- CAREERS: - pick any career you have not counted in for score
- - be careful to pick a 10 level career. (e.g.: Daycare has only 5)

HEIR – HEIRESS - CHILDREN

- You can have as many children as you wish.
- The heir/heiress has to be of the same gender as the founder and has to be born with the founder’s name.
- The league has to be announced before the child grows up into a teen (In case of multiple children)
- Vampires as heir/heiress are not allowed (See: Vampires)
- All traits for heirs/heiresses must be rolled
- YOUNG ADULT: Heir/heiress:
- LTW:select the next suggested LTW you haven’t used before. If all suggested have already been used, go to more options (…), find the current LTW of the spouse and go down the list one by one to the next unused Wish you can find
- CAREERS: - pick any career you have not counted in for score
- - be careful to pick a 10 level career. (e.g.: Daycare has only 5)
- YOUNG ADULT: other children:
- Have to move out

ADOPTION

Adoption through the Adoption Service (call services/adotion service) is allowed.

LIFTETIME REWARDS

Any rewards under 10,000 points may be purchased
Exception: if you have to change the LTW of a spouse, you have to purchase “Change Lifetime Wish”, worth 10,000 points.

VAMPIRES

- Vampire spouses are allowed
- Vampire heirs/heiresses are not allowed!
- If an heir/heiress is born Vampire, you have to purchase a “Vampirism Cure” potion at the science center (cost §3,000). And give it to the child before it grows up to school kid. (I found only Sims from YA on can drink the vampillicin. this calls for a change in rules ->)
- NEW! Spouses must drink the vampillicin before they give birth to an heir/heiress to avoid vampirism in the carrying bloodline.
- Founder, spouses and heirs may NOT ask to be turned!

GHOSTS

- Ghosts of founder, heirs and spouses may be resurrected

IMAGINARY FRIEND

- May be turned into a Sim
- Hitting adulthood: may either become spouse or has to move out

FOUNTAIN OF YOUTH and other PREMIUM CONTENT

- You may choose to purchase anything from the build/buy section, depending of what you want to explore. After all this is about having fun with the game

NEW! USE OF INGAME ADVANTAGES (other than lifetime award points)

- Potions, magic and other helpers your Sims achieve during gameplay, are allowed.

This sounds so much easier to follow the rules. I've added it to the index. Thank you for posting.

That sounds like a legacy that I could follow.

This is looking better all the time. I tried at doing legacy style playing but end up breaking rules and then resort to cheats.
I am really enjoying following your story. Kind of makes me want to play along.

Question:

Can a 'live' Non-Sim IF stay in the household as an IF?
Once IF turns Sim is it Adulthood? Or Young Adult stage when they need to move or marry?

Non-Sim IF I'd consider an ingame advantage, as he/she is a helper to raise the social statusbar. I would keep him/her for that.
I have one in Terrance's inventory. He never grew up, because I kept it in there. He's still there as a doll. Don't know about the interactions possible though. Will check.
