PostSubject: Sim Skill Builder Challenge (Updated 11-18-12)   Sat Feb 25, 2012 12:11 pm

The object of this challenge is to have a sim max all available skills. Having a sim that can paint and create objects for your builds will be a nice addition. I think the challenge will be fun too! This challenge is in testing and subject to changes.

Please feel free to try out this challenge and leave suggestions and feedback.

Rules at this point:

  • You may play in any world you chose just make sure any spawners you may need are available in that world
  • Set your options to high free will and epic life span (pre Generations)
  • Generation Age Span: Baby: 7, Toddler: 14, Child: 21, Teen: 21, Young Adult: 32 , Adult: 32, and Elder: 15. Total Age span 135 days (in testing & subject to change)
  • You may create your Sim any way you wish including picking traits, favorites and Life Time Wish
  • You must start with a single Sim
  • Your Sim MUST start with no skills started and no inventory items except the diploma that the game places in Generations.
  • Your Sim must be allowed to age. You may only stop, slow or reverse aging with items that are available in the game though legal play.
  • You may purchase any home of your Sims choice regardless of cost. However the home must be purchased unfurnished.
  • Since your unfurnished home comes with a kitchen and bath only you may provide your Sim with a bed, easel and may edit the land to provide a space for a garden and pond if you wish
  • You may build your Sim a home of any size and cost however you may only provide your Sim with a kitchen, 1 bathroom, a bed and an easel to start.
  • Once setup is complete all funds must be removed from your Sim. From this point on he/she must earn their own way.
  • You may allow your Sim a family however no one else in the household may use a skill until your main Sim has already mastered it. For instance your main Sim marries but has not yet mastered cooking. He/she must do all the cooking until he/she has mastered it.
  • No cheats of any kind may be used. This includes cheats to maintain needs.
  • No mods that increase skill gain, maintain needs or interfere directly with your Sim may be used
  • Your Sim may chose to master skills in any order he/she chooses or even work on multiple ones at the same time
  • Your Sim must accept and complete all opportunities that are presented (see exception below)
  • You have the option of bypassing an Opportunity by deducting 100 Simoleons for the first one. Each one after that will cost 100 more. So for instance if you get to bypassing a 5th one it will cost you 500.
  • Failing to complete an opportunity will cost you 100 Simoleons for the first one and an additional 100 for each one after that.
  • your Sim may have any job they chose and may change jobs whenever they see fit
  • Your Sim must keep and display all paintings, inventions and sculptors he/she creates. They may only sell duplicates.
  • Optional Objective: When learning the painting skill you Sim is tasked with creating a painting of every available painting and displaying them on his/her lot. I have read that this may not be possible because once you reach certain skill levels lower level paintings are not available to paint.
  • Optional Objective: Complete the full skill journal for each skill
  • You must set up some way to share your Sims progress. You may do a full blown story or just a skill update with a few pictures. The choice it up to you.
  • If you Master your last skill and your Sim has not completed their life time wish your challenge is over
  • If at anytime your Sim dies.. Your challenge is over
  • If at anytime your Sim reaches Elder.. Your challenge is over

Skills list: (subject to change)

Athletics
Bass
Drums
Piano
Charisma
Cooking
Fishing
Gardening
Guitar
Handiness
Inventing
Logic
Martial Arts
Mixology
Nectar Making
Painting
Photography
Sculpting
Writing

To win this challenge all of the above skill must be mastered before your Sim reaches Elder. You also must complete your Sims Life Time Wish. At this point you can save your Sim to your Library and always have a Sim handy to create personal objects for your builds Smile

This is what I have so far.. I am still playing with the ages groups for Generations because I want it to be a challenge to get this all done while trying to maintain age as well. I think I may have it set too high right now but we will see.

Those are the perfect skills to start out with. Are you going to get her a job? or is she just going to sell her fish and vegies?

Artifex up and moved on me. Can you believe that!! He informed me that the test location I provided was too large and did nothing for his creativity. He sold the location I provided and moved to a small island! He can be so temperamental! At least I know the old location will not go to waste as it was purchased by a young couple who want to have lots of children. They have hired a contractor and are planning on finishing the house.

Here is a pic of Artifex in his new home.

He decided to take a job at the local school. I am not sure why considering he does not like children but it was what he wanted and he does need to eat.

Skill update:

Painting: 1
Fishing: 1
Funds: 0

He is turning out to be quite the stubborn Sim lol but the smaller island is working better for him and the house I had originally started for him is must more suited for a family so it made sense for him to up and fly the coop!

The island he moved to is ile de maroc. It is a completely empty island by Trystiane. I found it when looking for a small unpopulated island I could set up how I wanted.

Here is an overview of the empty island.

I will post some pics of what I have done with it later. Not all the homes I added fit the beach theme but I wanted to get houses placed and I can switch them out later Smile

I am planning on working on this challenge along with my Lifetime Wish challenge. Annastasia will move on to this challenge once she is grown and moves out. Since she is a vampire I think she will make a great test subject and if I can get her to immortal status then she will have plenty of time to produce an heir after she completes all her skills. This will let me work on both at once rather then making another save. I already have too many different saves lol.

Change of plans! With the recent twist in the Rae legacy I decided Anna is not the one to do this challenge. She will most likely stay at home after becoming a young adult and with Cayley and Barry in the household following this challenge would not work!

So I'd like to introduce you to my newest test subject

Tailor Raegan

Traits: Savvy Sculptor, Handy, Artistic, Loner and Kleptomaniac
Favorites: Firecracker Shrimp, French Music and Pink
Sign: Virgo

She is being settled into a fresh Sunlit Tides. I will try and update the skills listing with the new skills added since my last attempt.
