You will need to test to be sure it recognized your microphone if you use one.

Forgot to address this the other day. sorry. Need to ask before I do it, that is uninstall the skype I'm currently using, then look for the Windows 10 skype?
No Silly me doesn't know how to tell what I have. Except when it updated I had a fit because my e-mail contacts were listed under my skype contacts. eeek I did not want that! So I complained( filed a complaint ) and when I went back the e-mail contacts were gone. That was fast.
There are so many changes lately it's hard keeping my head above water.

I recommend finding the Windows 10 Skype App first.
That should keep the current groups or people you have in your contact list intact. I don't think I ever uninstalled the downloadable version that I was using before. I just removed the shortcut from my start menu. You might want to do that before you get rid of the original one.

What are you all doing this summer? My daughter Emily is moving to a bigger room in our house. So we have to paint a lot, new carpet, more furniture, paintings/posters on the walls etc. We´re taking a break though: This wednesday we´re travelling to Abu Dhabi. It´s hot but the temperatures are higher than usual in the rest of Europe, so the difference isn´t that big. It´s off-season in The Emirates so we have to fly from Hamburg in Germany (4 hours from our house), from Hamburg to Düsseldorf ( 1 hour)and then to Abu Dhabi (5 hours). A coupe of years ago we were in Dubai and that is to much for my taste. Everything is more expensive and more bling. It´s really bad taste sometimes. I have heard Abu Dhabu has more class. For the first time we can afford a 5 star hotel because it´s off-season. Unfortunately my daughter wants to stay at home and live with some friends. She is almost 18. That´s the first time we travel without her. But at least my son Simon is coming. He´s 26 and single.

Here is our hotel. I don´t think we can build it in Sims.

Such a long trip to get there. Your hotel looks awesome. I hope you have fun.

I'm not going anywhere anytime soon. I've been watching the Calgary Stampede on TV. It's a rodeo with bucking horses, bull riding and all of the other cowboy things. My favourite, though, is the Chuck Wagon races aka The Rangeland Derby.

Wow Noeddehaven, that hotel looks fantastic. I'm sure you'll have an awesome time.

I'm done with my summer job; last day was Saturday. My holiday (the next two weeks) I shall spent in "Gardenia". Hubby trimmed the lawn and bushes and installed the sprinkler before he left for a work trip to China and Sri Lanka. So yeah, time to relax, read, and play Sims again. I treated myself to the last three The Sims 4 releases for that matter giggle Big Grin

Hope you are all doing well and keep cool in the hot summer months.

MerryWidow: I have never heard of Calgary Stampede. It sounds like a lot of fun. We have just a few cowboy disciplines in Denmark. The majority is jumping, dressage and military.  Trec, distance and hunt (not a real fox) are also quite popular. Perhaps you can tell I´m a horse person/mum. I wish Danish Television would broadcast other sports than mostly football (the European style) and handball.  Horsey

Lionpaws: Relaxing in the garden sounds very nice. I like reading in the garden with a cold glass of lemonade/beer and perhaps a barbecue later on.  flower

Sounds like everyone is having a nice Summer. Our work season is in full swing but we are on vacation for a few days (7). I hoped on playing sims but our internet here is lacking and my son (12 yrs) has rediscovered the Sims 4 and is taking over my PC the last couple of days. I hope his buddies decide they need him on Xbox soon!

Hope everyone is well and happy! Heart

Here are a couple of videos to give you an idea what the Calgary Stampede is all about.

Just a little north of Calgary is Spruce Meadows where they host Olympic style horse and rider events in Show Jumping.

Laughing  That might not be a bad idea. He normally plays maybe an hour and then moves on to something else but the other day he played for hours. It was fun to see him enjoy the game but there is only room for one Sims addict during this vacation! Laughing

What a lovely Summer everyone is having. Good. I've already had the highlight of my Summer and it was nice.

Have been searching for a new hair salon and found one to try out and hope I like it as it's in town.
So far so good with the lawn cutting service. Except they seem to double bill. Or the accounts payable don't understand the billing system. I want this to work out so I hope things get straightened out. Had to hire a lawn landscaping service to resurrect the lawn. Happened to notice a couple of weeks ago that the green I was seeing was actually weeds. eeek They haven't come out yet. hmm
Waiting until mid August to call the landscaper back to come out and give an estimate on fixing the back garden. I have to simplify so will take everything out and start over but with mostly small flowering shrubs instead of my favorite English Garden of anything pretty that grows. And hopefully I will be able to keep up with the weeding for as long as I live here.

That is a lovely looking hotel, Noeddehaven. Such wonderful time you will have being pampered.
You also Lionpaws with your easier quiet time.
The rodeo sounds and looks like fun MW.
Your break away from home sounds nice too BG. Even if your son won't share computer time with you.

As many of you already know I retired in December so everyday is a ... holiday?
Maybe not a holiday just another "do not have to go to a job" day Cool
Playing Sims and watching Netflix and some television and making my little savings stretch to last as long as possible.
The past couple of weeks have been ... umm .. interesting.
A mysterious puddle (?) of water formed on the carpet in front of the bathroom door.
After a bit of investigating and a call to maintenance it was discovered the water was from the air conditioning.
Condensation that accumulates while it is on was not draining properly. HVAC fixed the issue and rerouted the lines to drain more efficiently. It took a few days and a high powered fan (from the rental office) to finally get the carpet dry.
There have also been a few routine inspections by management to be sure we are pest free and everything in working order.
The property management does put a lot of effort into keeping the complex well maintained.
Then there was the thing with the car.... my son has been using my car to run errands on my behalf. Taking me to appointments and keeping my groceries stocked etc. My car was parked in the grocery lot just minding it's own business... parked with no one in it.  Son was doing my shopping when over the speaker it was announced they were looking for the owner of my car.
He called me as he was walking out to see what happened. Seems two other ladies had a run in near my car. One driving in the lane and the other across the lanes in the parking lot. When they collided rant  one of the cars spin around catching my front bumper....
The whole front bumper was fallen off like a person with a badly broken jaw...  rant
The insurance of the guilty party that caused it is investigating now.
There were NO personal injuries.

That's no good! @EuphorialQueen I am happy no one was hurt. I hope they pay for your car to be fixed.

My days are always spent with kids. A 2.5 year old, a 6.7 year old and a 17.8 year old. and 2 days a week a 4 year old with bathroom problems.. Laughing I wish I could retire but I don't think we ever really retire from kids.

We already took a vacation earlier this year. But we also have a camp trip planned for the end of next month. I hope everyone has a safe and happy rest of their summer. Big Grin

Oh my EQ! I have had many near misses with cars jetting out and darting across parking lots instead on using the proper lanes.

Noeddehaven- you are very lucky to go to such awe inspiring places. I have yet to be able to have the funds to travel abroad, maybe one of these days I will as there are a couple places I really would love to see. I hope you have/had a nice relaxing time.

As for me, hubby and I spent about 2- 21/2 weeks back down in Baton Rouge. Our youngest is still there and we hadn't been able to get back down to see her in nearly 2 years. First the transmission that we spent 2K on while we were still living in Louisiana decided it was going to quit so my car sat in storage for almost a year until we could get it fixed. Another 2K into that. Luckily my oldest nephew is a mechanic so we saved hundreds of $$ in labor costs.

That has been pretty much the extent of my summer, will be looking in going back and getting re-certified as a nursing assistant. All of the nursing homes here are crying for people and I do have 9 1/2 years of that experience under my belt and I dearly loved doing that kind of work. It was most rewarding job I have ever had. However, I won't be jumping into full-time. I feel I don't really need full-time and I would much rather not take one up where someone who is still raising a family could use the money more than I.

Other than that we are waiting for the arrival of our 11th grandbaby. Eli is due to be born around Sept. 25, but I think his mom, our youngest, is a lot further along than the doctor says. He will be our 3rd grandson, the rest are all girls. Surprised LOL. We are also waiting for further tests to be done on another daughters, daughter. Ellie, who just turned a year old last month has a preliminary diagnose of leukodystrophy. Because there are 50 classifications to leukodystrophy, they can not say which one for sure without further testing to be done. And she has also been diagnosed with Carnitine Deficiency and is being treated for this. So right now we are all just taking one day at a time, praying for the best outcome.

I was looking in my albums in my Picture folder and I found this picture of the mare my daughter had 2 years ago. When I saw the horse for the first time I thought her name was Plumbob giggle Her real name was Zafari (Dutch Warmblood) Heart We only had her for 6 month. She needed a far more experienced rider (read: could be very subborn) than my daughter. What a shame - Zafari was an easy-to-love horse Heart

Mamajanaynay, I hope your little granddaughter will be OK. Congrats on your impending new grandson!

Noeddehaven, sorry to have to let your horse go. I was very fortunate to have a horse when I was in gradeschool, 6th grade, through Jr. High. Loved him and had so much fun riding him with my friends. We'd been going to a man named Clarence's place and riding his plow horse. Standing on it's back, really, but thought it great fun. Our parents didn't like that. My girlfriend lived on the edge of town and they had a lot of property and a barn with some rescue horses. I'll never forget the look on my parents face the Christmas morning before the spring we got Pat. They had opened a present from their friends, my girlfriend's parents who had the barn, and saw a saddle blanket and curry comb and brush. I've never seen two more surprised ( or maybe they were horrified) people. I was dancing around the room I was so excited. I knew I was getting a horse! We went to a horse auction on St. Patrick's day and under the guidance of my Dad's friend, bought a 3 or 4 year old, mostly trained, gilding. He had a pretty grey coat which was made of many different colors on closer inspection and I loved him immediately and enjoyed him for over 3 years. Until High School when there wasn't any time to ride as often so my brother took over. I hope you can find another horse for your daughter. Good memories!

Had been having shortness of breath lately so had a stress test today. I passed and did very well. So no more worries about heart problems. Now if the migraines would just stop ( and the neck pain from too tense muscles)....I'd be a happy camper. Smile

Yes it is always sad to sell a horse. We have had 3 ponies (in Denmark you can ride ponies up til you are 16 years old) in competitions. Then we bought Zafari and after her we found this goofball. He is so gentle, sweet, funny, loves humans and animals (and they love him back), easy.... We have had him for 2 years now and he is the right horse for both my daughter and me. He is 7 years old now and is a Danish Warmblood (most Hanoverian) and a red roan  Heart  Heart  Heart
