Your scarf is really cool! I like to knit from time to time. I want to try making one of those giant arm blankets.

Thanks ladies! @MerryWiddow My son picked out the yarn. It's a multi colored skein....so I just knit to get the pattern. Super easy.

Oh, Those blankets look so comfy! @PallyStyle

We did get the forecasted weather. Snow day! Making a crockpot full of potato soup. Can't wait to eat it.

We got 3 to 4 inches of the white stuff today! It's only supposed to get up to 8 degrees(Fahrenheit)tomorrow and I am supposed to go to the dentist. I want my tooth fixed but part of me hopes they cancel... Laughing

Well, school's already been called for a 2 hour delay tomorrow. Calling for windchills  20 below zero during morning rush hour. I won't be surprised if they close.... I bet the school buses won't start if it's that cold.

Good luck tomorrow @PallyStyle
A couple more finished knitting projects

Nice pictures of snow BG, but the windchills eeek sound arctic!

Those scarfs will certainly be appreciated. Gorgeous!

We don't seem to get winter this year, about 40° Fahrenheit, really windy and rain every day. meeeh!

Not nice to go outside either. So I made progress on my quilt top, I'm now at 60":

Crying or Very sad We drove all the way to the dentist, it's an hour away, and they took 2 minutes to look at my tooth and go, "yep it needs a root canal you are going to have to schedule that." I was thinking, 'um, I thought I did and that was why I am here.' I have to go back after taking some antibiotics. Sad

what a day!

Those projects look great, @Buttonsginger and @lionpaws great work! thumbs up

Your quilt is gorgeous lionpaws! They will be thrilled.

The scarf you knit for your son BG is lovely! That's a lot of work.

Pallystyle I'm so sorry about your tooth. I had an implant last year and and was at the dentist every other month and got so tired of it! But I like my permanent tooth.

PostSubject: Re: From the Back Porch to the Patio 2017 - 2018   Sat Feb 03, 2018 2:26 pm

I've had a bad year for my health. I can actually date feeling unwell back to when the doc I was seeing changed my HBP medication even after I had told her I didn't do well with a lot of pharmacy drugs and prefer alternative treatments. Didn't notice anything for some months due to being busy with husband's ailing, etc., but then she added another HBP pill to get my blood pressure down and it made me sick right away. Telling her about it didn't do any good about taking me off it so I started looking around for another doctor after 6 months of getting no where and getting sicker and sicker. It's not so easy finding another place to go but I did end up back to where I used to go. Had one last visit in Dec with doc and she finally took me off the 2nd HBP med but then doubled the first one, Losatran ( sp?) and I got sick again within a few days of the change. This time it was the muscles in my upper arms and legs. Could hardly move for the pain. Went to see the new NP and got off that HPB and back on my old one of some years ago. Had an appointment with a pain management doctor the end of Jan and he had idea what was wrong so I took steroids for about 5 days and that almost immediately got rid of the muscle pain but head and neck muscles still ache. Had an MRI to see if there was anything to see about my neck and head problems. Have to wait for the reading. May not get my good health back that I had before the HPB medication was changed but I have hope. I know I have arthritis in lower and upper spine but it hadn't bothered me since original diagnosis in my 40's. I may have to learn to deal with some things that I wasn't planning on having to deal with just yet. Surprised Best laid plans and all that.
I gave myself Netflex for my birthday flower and watch an addictive Shameless show a lot. I really need to move on!
I don't want any more adventures. My daughter-in-law says I'm the only one she knows who had these things happen. That's depressing. Did I tell you about the carwash incident? Took my car through and it came out so dirty I couldn't see through the windows. They'd been cleaning the carwash when I showed up and evidently didn't want to lose my business. Ugh! Had to go through again.

@Gramcrackers,

I can sympathize a little with the HBP medication problems. My mom has it and I have it. I should of never started taking the pills for it but the doctor at the time said I needed it and then I find out I could of tried other things first. They are always wanting to give my mom more pills for hers or change what she is taking. She likes herbs and always fights them on some of the things. HBP runs in my family on moms side. My grandma had it in the 200's and no one could understand how she was still alive. I personally think they don't understand what makes it go up and what a normal rate is. I just think some people have a naturally higher BP than others.

I hope you can get your pain under control too. Just being in pain can make BP be higher. Happy you are enjoying Netflix! It's good to have something to take our mind off problems. Heart

@Gramcrackers I'm glad you got some things sorted out.

I always watch the same show on Netflix until I've finished the series then move on to the next one. It helps me to keep the characters in order.

Gram, I keep my fingers crossed that pain relief will get better this year for you.

Thank you BG.
My quilt project is on hold at the moment; and for a very sweet reason.
A pair of baby Main Coon joined our household. Brother and Sister. The tom's name is Indy and the girl's is Soleil.
The name Indy occured to me the moment he walked out the carrier right after their arrival at my home, like an Indian Maharaja.
A friend of mine asked "Oh, like Indiana Jones?" - well, that fits him also giggle
Soleil is French for sun. She was named by the family where she was born and I like the name very much. She rather is like a sunbeam, makes me happy when she comes running the moment I get home.

Now you know my new treasures Smile
Haven't done much else but rearrange the house for the kitties in the last three weeks lol.
And they find something I forgot to put away every day.

@Gramcrackers HBP meds can really drain you of energy. I hope you can find something that helps and makes you feel like yourself. Constant pain is so debilitating. I really wish you some relief BigHug

@lionpaws Wow! What beautiful kittens! They look so sweet and cuddly!

@Gram
I have been taking Losartan (Cozaar) for almost a year now. This replaced Lisinopril which was causing some annoying though minor side effects. I only have one other prescription so not many interactions to worry about. I had a prescription to (supposedly) control pain but it is classed as more of a muscle relaxer. It just left me dopey-(er) and sleepy. I stopped taking it and went back to my trusty (generic) Tylenol.
Hope you can get everything coordinated to find some relief.
Netflix (and Sims) is my guilty pleasure
Smile giggle
I like to watch series and some movies. I even took a chance and watched some from outside the US and was pleasantly surprised. Thou there are still a few "stinkers" on the menu rant  lolgal

@lionpaws I just want to hug Indy & Soleil
