Yes it updates automatically and is continually scanning to make sure everything is always up to date.

I use ESET. It is not very expensive and it is the one responsible for making sure the updates are taken care of. It often calls my attention to the fact that there are Windows updates and I should install them. It was recommended by my techie son-in law. I love it.

For security I use Avast, I even have a paid account. Anyone having problems with that?

It looks like a virus program as well. Never heard about it before.

Avast sometimes calls my attention for updates on other program except windows as well. I downloaded a funny thing for my mobile phone, it should ruin the phone if it's stolen if I press a button om my comp. Someone must have been watching Hollywood movies giggle
