So Lt. Columbo is trying to solve a case.

The suspect is a grey haired elder female wearing a long sleeve shirt and a skirt and hates children. He sent out an APB and went to the park in Oasis Springs, no one fitting that description ever showed and he waited the whole shift. ( the suspect on the last case was a male elder with grey hair....which turned out to be grey "eyebrows", evidently he had shaved his head in an attempt to disguise himself) Day two: went to another crime scene on the same case, collected evidence (etc), posted more clues (etc) sent out another APB....this time went to the museum. No one there so the Lieutenant strolled around the common areas. Bingo....a suspect with all the clues....but NOT the correct sim. What?? Any one else having this problem?

The Lieutenant is was ranked as a Lieutenant but had solved enough cases to be promoted to Captain.

I did find a thread on the officials here.

No, I am still stuck on that same case. I went back and tried to arrest any female in long sleeves and a skirt. My sim's job performance tanked. I was able to go back to the precinct and do other tasks and get promoted to Colonel (level 9). The solved case requirement looks to be fulfilled for the next promotion, so I should be able to get to the top of the career.
