Update: 10/21/2014 – Version 1.0.797.20 -SimGuruGnome
Hello Simmers, readers of patch notes, and other developers who just happen to be searching the internet for examples of how other teams are writing up their release notes!
We had a few issues we felt needed to be addressed sooner rather than later, and have tackled them in today’s patch! Many of these issues were brought forth by the community through the forums. We thank you for your efforts, your posts, and your focus in helping us create a better experience with The Sims 4.
Some bugs you might be keen to know were fixed: The “Eye and jaw width looks funky” bug! The “I can’t get married if my fiancé died” issue! And the “My Sims can’t age up anymore” bug.
The other issues which we have fixed are detailed below, and we are always dedicated to fixing performance and gameplay blocking issues in order to provide the best gaming experience possible. Please keep posting on the forums. We do read them and we are tracking issues that you are finding.  Thank you!
Crashes / Performance
*Fixed an issue where the game could enter into an infinite load after all Sims in a household had died.
*Fixed a performance issue resulting in too many hidden Sims being created for "just in case" scenarios. Resulting in a large number of Sims being loaded that were not needed.
*Scrolling left in the Memory timeline will no longer freeze your game. Yea… we just… don't ask…
*Fixed an issue that was caused by placing a Sim from the gallery into multiple households that could result in either simply causing the appearance to revert to the original Sims appearance, or could cause the household to become unplayable.
*Fixed an issue that would result in the player being unable to place a Room from the Gallery if the room had been uploaded with a single plate of food.
Tuning
*Fixed an appearance issue that caused Sims to incorrectly appear with small eyes and wide jaws on age up. This was a result of a modifier value being improperly ignored for one age group, that resulted in the value being incorrectly applied, and was exacerbated if a Sim moved into or out of that age group.
*The grieving period is over… Sims can now attempt to marry again if their fiancé has died.
*Players can once again tell their Sim to age up with a cake, regardless of the Auto Age setting. On a side note, I feel strongly as though I should have used the word irregardless, if only to anger my co-workers who contend that the word is not a word. I feel however, that it is a perfectly fine word, irregardless of their feelings.
*Fixed an issue where Widows and Widowers were not being properly given their relationship status as Widows and Widowers.
*Sims made from the same Gallery Sim will now properly populate the world as desired, rather than secretly kill off their clones before moving into the world.
*Fixed an issue where Ambrosia was "sort of" allowing itself to be copied in Build Mode, however, while it was charging full price for the copy, it was only delivering an empty plate with FX.
*Resurrected Ghosts by way of Ambrosia, will properly age up upon their return to the land of the living… which is unfortunate because they are just going to die again.
*Fixed an issue with the Throw 5 Parties goal not counting thrown parties correctly, making it impossible to throw a party that would satisfy the Throw 5 Parties goal. We have thrown together a few lines of code, talked to all parties involved, and verified that it is once again possible to throw a party that satisfies the Throw 5 Parties goal.
*Fixed an issue preventing Ghosts from showing up as valid targets in some Sim Picker dialogs, such as Write Love Email or Send Spam Money Request to.
*Teens can now write Love Emails to other Teens.
*Ghostly Repair will now satisfy the Repair an Object whim.
*Added a venue wall speaker for the Spooky station into the debug catalog.
*Fixed an issue that would cause a Sim to attempt to repair a working shower, if the broken shower was on the 2nd floor.
UI / Text
*Manage households will no longer show empty households as a result of Sims dying from old age.
*Fixed an improper string update which resulted in the 1st goal of the Writing aspiration informing you that you should "Read 1 Book at the Library," rather than the correct goal of "Beat Writer's Block". Odd that the writing aspiration had an error in the text.

uggghhh ... my new household member went to work, and is stuck there! he physically is home but the needs bar and controls are all greyed out.... he can interact with all sims via control of the opposite sim, and he takes care of his needs ... but it show's him still at work Sad ... I've tried the reset sim cheat, but don't know if I'm doing it right !

Try having Sim travel with another Sim.
Or manage household to Move out/back into household.
You do not have to actually move them. Just going thru the motions should reset them.
If anyone has a link to the solution it would be appreciated.

I tried the travel, and it didn't work ... what did work, was to have him quite his job, and the next day, he re-applied for the same position, went to work, and came home, all is well Cool

I had that happen once and I was able to have my sim "leave work early" and it reset him and I was able to control him.

Well, that was a temporary fix ... it must be a glitch with the investigative career ... I'm trying him out in "entertainer", and we'll see ....

BG, do you remember what career branch that happened to you in?

That is weird. I think I played almost every career so far and not seen that glitch...yet.

When I was playing the BFF household that I'd moved Sandy Beaches into, twice this happened to different Sims in the house, two Sims would be talking and one would go to work but would still be shown 'talking' with the Sim at home. It was just weird and it did fix itself eventually.

there are other people who have had the same issue's over on the Sims4 Forum ... nothing worked, I ended up having him quite the entertainer job, because it happened again ... so then I moved him out, and now can't move him back in ... I go thru the process, and click the "check" box to merge the households .... and NOTHING .... I have the "x" out the box Crying or Very sad   I'll keep ya posted, but today, hubby and I are going to vote and out to lunch ..... thumbs up


ok ... loaded the game via origin, I discovered that the "move process" wouldn't complete, until I had him actually move into another house .... I stumbled across that little nugget when looking at the houses in world view .... I had moved him into the "Zest" house, but it showed up as an empty lot .... Whistle so once I had him actually move into the "Zest" house, I could then use the merge/split option to move him back into the "Rosebud challenge" house, all relationships, skills, etc.... were intact ... so now I'm going back into the game (before hubby wakes up) Razz  and see if he can't get a job and it all go "NORMAL"!!!! hmm


UPDATE ... everything went well, except, I'm back to square one ... he got a job in the Investigation career, and he came home from work, but he didn't come home .... Mad I can click that icon to "leave work early" and he gets another paycheck .... in fact I did that twice Razz but quit the game without saving, so truly, I'm back to square one ... uggghhhhh ... so now I have a sim who's "taking up space" and not pulling his weight ... perhaps I can just use him to clean, cook, and help skill up my others social needs, etc?, until I find a fix for this glitch Crying or Very sad

After hours of research I ran across a possible fix albeit a temporary one ....

when my sim came home from work, but didn't really come home, due to this bug/glitch, I went into manage world, and played another household for a sim hour, then switched back to my problem sim .... although the little "two person icon" was no longer there, he still had the briefcase on his profile, and his needs were still "greyed out" .... I then reset him, and had another sim in the house travel with him to the gym, and when they returned home ... all is normal .... so we shall see what the next work day brings! What a pain if I have to do this everytime he get's off of work!

A funny thing happened during all this experimenting though ... at one point, I had him quite his job, and then re-apply for the same position .... the new job was to start in 2 day's time .... but I got a notification that he was due to be at work in 1 hour ... it was like the game thought he had two jobs .... how odd!!!

After this mornings game play, here is what I found!

OK .... just before my sim got off of work, I noticed his "boss" was calling him, don't know if that play's a role or not, but he got off of work, but didn't ... all need controls were "greyed out" .... I went into manage world and played another household for just a few minutes, then returned to my sim and he was home and was completely playable .... so this is a work around for me ... I do hope this helps others!

If only, EQ .... not so, it's a process I have to do everyday when he comes home from work .. or doesn't come home, should I say Head Desk But others have lost their complete games over this issue ... so I feel fortunate!

omgOSH ...... I just removed all the mods/cc and opened my game ..... HE CAME HOME FROM WORK!!!!!! Shocked .. Thankfully I only have 6 or 7 files to work thru to find the culprit ... but will FIND it GetBusy
