PostSubject: Skipstad Rosebud Challenge   Fri Oct 03, 2014 5:04 am

I haven't really played that much before and I though 1 day of almost only this could get me some experience, and perhaps be fun?

I made Henning and Henriette Skipstad.

Henning wants to be a Mansion Baron. He's perfectionist, self-assured, materialistic and business-savvy.
Henriette wants Fabulously Wealthy. She's business-savvy, foody, materialistic and mean.

I gave them an empty plot and put an outdoor trashcan, before removing all funds with that cheat.

How to get feed and how to earn money?

10-02-14_4-32 PM by Volvenom, on Flickr

Here they stand hungry outside the nightclub and that turned out to be perfect. The game didn't charge for chips at the counter, so free mealts Whistle

10-02-14_4-31 PM by Volvenom, on Flickr

To earn some money I sent them to the pc at the library. They couldn't take a job before earning 500, so the pc was my one and only option. Learn some skills. Henriette could learn programming and Henning started writing children's books.

Henriette earned quite good for a homeless on those viruses and stuff. He had some earnings from his writing as well.

10-02-14_5-42 PM by Volvenom, on Flickr

The library had two beds and the gym had showers. It was a bit tireing though, they didn't get that good sleep or some real food until I got them a pizza. They could keep the pizza for days, unless they trashed it when I wasn't looking Head Desk

Next thing on the list was beds so they could sleep out well.

After reaching 500,- I gave Henning a writing career and Henriette started out as a criminal.

10-02-14_7-36 PM by Volvenom, on Flickr

When I had enough for a double bed I thought they could start on making babies. One of my first priorities for Henriette was a desk and pc at home so she could keep on earning those important dosh, and take care of the money ... ops baby Laughing

10-02-14_7-55 PM by Volvenom, on Flickr

Have you ever had a public shower? They did that a lot and it didn't seem to bother them much either. Priorities is important here, walls are expensive and not really crucial.

Then they had Lisa, she aged to kid quite fast while the mother earned even more by making viruses and apps. when she's wasn't bossing those thiefs around. Lisa could stay at home alone.
Lisa had a problem with the missing walls though, and to reach grade B or something on school she needed to go energized to school ... really? I got her a more expensive bed than the parents.

I also got them a baby boy called Lavrans. He grew up to kid as well quite fast.

Henrik this morning has 6 days to being old while Henriette hasn's even got to adult yet ... what is that all about? I made them together, they should age together.

After the first day funds are 5294 and the house looks like this.

Skipstad Legacy, The Rosebud Challenge by Volvenom, on Flickr

A house is just a shelter after all.

The thing I'm struggling with now is Henriettes pickpocket goal. She has to pick 5 pockets, the first two was very easy, but is it really needed to hug the people you pick pockets from? That's not usually the case is it?

yes I believe I do, they have now got to 17922,- with Henning being an older man, Henriette well into the adult, Lisa has grown up and earn quite a bit from what she's doing, she just needs to find a spouce. Lavrans is in his teens and has a parttime job as a gardener.

I got passed the pickpocket issue too. Henning changed job in the middle somewhere and is now struggling to get to the top of that career considering he's old already. As long as the money comes in I guess.

Oh yea, that's nice.

Played some hours yesterday and my focus is now around Lisa. She has to find a spouse. I gave her the geek career, she's already earning as her mother did with making viruses. Can they even be arrested for doing that?

Skipstad Legacy, The Rosebud Challenge by Volvenom, on Flickr

I expanded the house to accommodate Lisas spouse. They also have another computer, it's what they earn their money on after all.

Skipstad Legacy, The Rosebud Challenge by Volvenom, on Flickr

Who should I choose as Lisa's spouse? Those below I don't know, perhaps I should find out what skills they have first. She also has a fitness guy she can choose, but I think he's a sad character, he looks so low all the time. If he has the skills to fit his role as a mentor at the gym he could come in handy still.

Skipstad Legacy, The Rosebud Challenge by Volvenom, on Flickr

Henning is now an old man, he finished his two books and get something back in royalties every day. It's just tiny though, not much to earn on that. Viruses pays and freelance work on the comp earns the mother, Lisa and Lavrans much more. The astronout career was a good choice though. It was really lucrative, Henriette don't earn that much on the criminal career, but she can keep on pickpocketing I guess Smile

Lavrans needed to get to 2 with his gardening side job, and now he needs 4 gardening for the next level. It could come in handy, on the other hand I would like him to be an astronout perhaps, since it was so lucrative for his father. If he starts out as a gardener the extra skill points may give him a kick in the new career, and more pay.

You are doing very well. Writing can earn a good bit if you just write one book after another. Selling to a publisher is better money over self-publishing as well.

Writing may pay good, but it takes so long writing a book as well. The astronout career only works a few days a week, it's very easy just to look at the sums coming in and think it's a lot if it only pays 2 days a week.

Where did you get that summary?

I played a few more hours today, but then it crashed. I think I have unticked automatic updates or something, or perhaps I should check just to be on the safe side.

Finding a spouse for Lisa wasn't easy. Before the game crashed the first one vanished, probably the game's cleaning up routine. The second one turned out to be too old when I moved him in, and how do I get rid of him again? He brought with him 20k, do they count?

Before the game crashed the guy who vanished, after I was back I followed him up and I thought he would be perfect unless he was old as well.

Skipstad Legacy, The Rosebud Challenge by Volvenom, on Flickr

Only he decides to die on my Sim, how rude!

Skipstad Legacy, The Rosebud Challenge by Volvenom, on Flickr

The next one was Chi and he is good I guess.

Skipstad Legacy, The Rosebud Challenge by Volvenom, on Flickr

First he was single, but then suddenly his spouse turned up. I don't know how this resolved itself, but Lisa was rather rude to the competition so she probably stayed away.

He isn't quite uber top, but It'll have to be good enough. Her biological clock is ticking.

Skipstad Legacy, The Rosebud Challenge by Volvenom, on Flickr

Henriette in her hard work evolving into a top criminal persuaded her son to streak through the streets. Isn't she nice?

Skipstad Legacy, The Rosebud Challenge by Volvenom, on Flickr

The father Henning died very early and I got an achievement, I just wish real life would bring an achievement each time someone dies.

Skipstad Legacy, The Rosebud Challenge by Volvenom, on Flickr

Henning starts haunting them and shakes furniture around, like this fridge.

Skipstad Legacy, The Rosebud Challenge by Volvenom, on Flickr

Lavrans starts talking to his dad like he wasn't even dead. I found that rather odd so I sent him off to neverland.

Skipstad Legacy, The Rosebud Challenge by Volvenom, on Flickr

Lisa has a baby girl called Hanna.

There was a bit of back and forth with Lavrans as well. I wanted to be earlier out this time. I sent him off to the nightclub to pick up someone who seemed young. Keyla turned up. Single and I had some troubles moving her into the house. There's so many options and where is that simple one Smile Anyways Keyla moved in and she had just started on her young adult life, so that was perfect. She's now pregnant.

Skipstad Legacy, The Rosebud Challenge by Volvenom, on Flickr

Later on I had the first guy I moved in for Lisa, he was called Ting and he was older than her mother  Big Grin He should have been the first one to die, but now the grim reaper brought Henriette with him instead. How unfortunate, well it was almost time I guess. Will he be back then or what?

Skipstad Legacy, The Rosebud Challenge by Volvenom, on Flickr

At the same time Hanna grows up to be a kid. I got a new achievement there Smile Here with her father.

Characters so far:
Henriette: Mother: starts the legacy and brought in lots of money as a programmer and criminal before she dies. Even as retired she brings in almost more than she did working, because it's daily.   Big Grin
Henning: Father: starts the lagacy and brighs in lots as a writer and astronaut, dies early.

Lisa: oldest daughter, does a lot of programming, starts in teenage years a parttime job at McDonalds, continues as a nerd with more programming.
Ting: failed spouse, has to learn all things almost, even as an old man. Brings in some cash.
Chi: Good age at least and he doesn't die. He works as an astronaut and does some programming in between.
Hanna: just grew up to be a kid.

Lavrans: son, learns a lot as a young, does gardening in his teens, continue as an astronaut as well.
Keyla: spouse, she only has aspirations to bring up a family and stay at home. Is pregnant.

Cash: 96k something.

Don't worry about it. I don't really like playing, it was just this challenge I got interested in. You just have fun with it your way Smile

I have it on 3 speed almost all the time. I could have it faster much more in the start, it's so many people to keep track of now just to keep the cash coming in. It's too much for speed 3 lots of the time.

I'm trying to manage a household of 7 people at the moment. Yesterday I had to go to work, so I just had a couple of hours to play.

Skipstad Legacy, The Rosebud Challenge by Volvenom, on Flickr

Failed spouse Ting suddenly died at this is what the Grim Reaper looks like. It's probably Hanna hiding in his robe.

Skipstad Legacy, The Rosebud Challenge by Volvenom, on Flickr

Keyla got twins and suddenly the game just produced a crib for the baby, here I was looking all over for a baby to put in the extra crib ... where have this silly game hidden my baby Mad You haven't bugged it away I hope eeek

Skipstad Legacy, The Rosebud Challenge by Volvenom, on Flickr

Entering the game now I found the achievement progress and it's a bit higher than my household funds at the moment. 130.344,- I'm on my way.

Lisa is the next big thing in her geek career, earning 98, she has just leveled and she lost a bit of what she gained too. Her investers wanted to know what the progress was for the next app or something, it wasn't going that well. I thought she's her mother's daughter so of cause she would lie Big Grin

Her investers turned out to be no fools and left her projects almost all of them Crying or Very sad .
For the next level she needs two more skill points in programming and having earned 250 from mobile app royalties. She can't make mobile apps yet, but still she has been credited with 36$.
This may take a while.

Her husband Chi has reach command center lead in his astronaut career, earns 71 and is ready to level in 3 days. He will now be busy earning on programming for the next days.

Lavrans is Space Cadet and earns 104, he has quite a bit to go to level next and it won't be next time either in 3 days. He needs to run 6 more hours on the treadmill to fulfill his requirements. It can't be that hard. So more programming for him as well.

Kayla has just reached head dishwasher in the cooking career, earns 16 and needs half a skill in mixology to level. That has really been hard to do with books. I wonder if she needs to actually work at the bar to really gain skills in mixology.

Hanna is now a grade B student, to level to A she needs 2 more skills to level 4 and do extra credit work one more time. She still has some time left before she ages up, so it might be doable.

Kayla had 2 girls and they have aged to kids. They are now working on getting to grade B students.

I wonder if I should fill up the last place with one more baby or have that space free for Hanna's boyfriend hmm

Eight definitely takes a lot of dancing (switching ) between Sims to keep the busy earning money and just staying alive. I found tending bar at venues did not bring a lot of money. Nor did it help with the Mixology skill. But then again I was also focusing on the Sims with higher income jobs.
