@Ina, Emily wears a uniform to school here in Louisiana, but back in my home state they don't, so unfortunately I have had that conversation but with 3 girls! Mad Laughing

@CD9, I giggled all the way through writing that whole conversation. giggle

@EQ, I'm so glad you love this family, they are one of my favorites too. Big Grin

Getting in game today, I didn't take many screenshots of the family as it is the work/school week so they don't do too much. But....

Emmet came home from school in a very foul mood. When poor Makenna tried to cheer him up...

Don't be so childish Mak!
Jeez. Someone is Mr. Grumpy pants today.
I just want to be left alone, okay? Is that too much to ask for?
Fine.
FINE!

That was about it. I left Emmet to stew on whatever went on at school that day. I thought it best to just let him do... whatever... he pleased.

So in the meantime lets catch up on some updates to skills and such.
Mak has a B in school, and needed one more skill leveled up to level 4, which she did. She is now at level 4 in Motor.
Emmet has learned the: cooking skill, comedy skill, mischief skill and is at level 2 in Athletic skill.
Lucy is at level 3 in comedy skill and painted her first masterpiece (?)

hmm

After school on another day, Lucy whipped up a batch of chocolate chip cookies for a snack. Which the girls didn't take long to dive into.  giggle And they promptly thanked their mother for making such a delicious snack.

That pretty much sums it all up. Tootles greetings2

@EQ, I've made the mistake in the past to do things to get them out of their mood and it didn't end well at all.

@CD9, That's what I thought too when that little message popped up and I went to look at her "masterpiece". I was like..."Huh? Where?" Ha HA

lol I got in trouble in DA just doing the demo. Picked something wrong and couldn't move on. Haven't had time to try again, if I can. But I digress. This is a good story.

Thanks Gram! BlowingKiss

Update time! When I dropped in on this family it was around midnight-ish on a Friday and Arya, Mak, Emmet and Lucy were all up and just milling about. confused I know the last time I played them they were all in bed. scratch  So I put them all back to bed as Friday is a school day and work day.

With the kids off to school and Zest leaving for work himself shortly, Lucy decided to visit the gym to drop some of the extra pounds she noticed she had packed on over the years. (Tbh, I think she looks fine and Zest obviously doesn't disagree, but well Lucy is getting a little self-conscious these days. Must be the mid-life crisis thing.)

After school, Lucy decided to have a chat with Emmet,

How was school today?
Fine.
Just...fine?
Yup.
Did you do your homework?
Nope.
Emmet, can you please put down the tablet and have a decent conversation with me? I feel like I'm talking to a wall.
In a minute.
Emmet!
Hold on, mom! I'm watching something.
And it's more important than having a chat with your mother?
Okay fine! I put it down. Happy now?
Yes. Very!

Then she chatted with the girls.

How was your day at school, girls?
It was fun! (Arya)
Oooo...we are going on a field trip! (Mak)
No we aren't! (Arya)
Yes we are! (Mak)
Girls! Girls. There is no need to fight. Now Arya, Mak's class maybe going on a field trip. She didn't mean the whole school. Were are you going MaK?
We are going to go look for a Christmas tree for our classroom. (Mak)
No fair! Mom can you write me a note so I can go with Mak? (Arya)
No hunny. I'm afraid I can't do that. Maybe your class will go another day. There is plenty of time to go.
Yeah maybe you're right. It's still not fair though. (Arya)

And that was about it. They all went off to bed and when Zest got home he was so tired he barely made it through eating his supper before he slunked off to bed.

Thanks Gram BlowingKiss

Annnnd...I think it's high time I did an update, don't ya think? Ha HA

I did these screenshots the other day, but was just too darn lazy to upload them and fill in the blanks. Laughing So here we go...now just to try to remember the story line I had to go with them may prove to be the tricky part. giggle

It's a Saturday morning and Arya and Mak were up early discussing something. Wonder what those two are up too?  thinkin Guess we'll find out in the next pic.  Big Grin

(Mak) You ask her.
(Arya) No, you ask her
(Mak) Uh ah. You ask
(Lucy) Why don't one of you two just ask me already instead of arguing over who is going to ask me what?
(Mak) Mom, when are we going to get our Christmas tree?
(Arya) Yeah. When mom? Christmas is almost here!
(Lucy) Well I have to work the weekend but I'm sure your dad and Emmett can take you two. I'll ask your dad when he gets up.
(Mak & Arya) Yaaaaay!!!!!!!!

Later that morning...
(Lucy) Zest, the girls want to know when we are going to go get a tree for Christmas.
(Zest) So soon? It's barely the beginning of December. If we get it now it'll be all dried up and needles falling off before Christmas even gets here.
(Lucy) Zest. Christmas really isn't that far away. Before we know it, it will be upon us.
(Zest) I guess you have a point there. So when did you want to go?
(Lucy) Well I have to work all weekend, big shin digs going on down at the Gallery. In fact every weekend this month I'll have to work. It is Christmas after all.
(Zest) Well, that throws a kink in getting a tree then, don't you think? Maybe do it during the week?
(Lucy) The kids have school during the week, you work during the week and it's just to crazy after school to do it. You and Emmett can take them, can't you?
(Zest) Yeah, I guess we can. Okay, I'll take them tomorrow. There's some things I want to get finished around here today.

(Arya) Hey dad! Good morning to you! Did mom talk to you?
(Zest) Yes she did, pumpkin. And before you ask, we will go get a tree tomorrow.
(Arya) Yippee! Wait till I tell Mak!

(Arya) Emmett, guess where we are going tomorrow.
(Emmett) Where?
(Arya) Just guess.
(Emmett) Come on Mak. Just tell me where we are going.
(Arya) We are going with dad to get a Christmas tree!
(Emmett) Who is we?
(Arya) You, me, Arya and dad.
(Emmett) What about mom? Isn't she coming?
(Arya) No. She can't. She's gots to work.
(Emmett) Oh.

Later that day...
(Emmett) So are you girls ready to go Christmas tree hunting tomorrow?
(Mak and Arya) YEAH!

The next morning Zest, Mak, Arya and Emmett all headed out to find their Christmas tree.

Thanks EQ, however with Zest being 5 days away from being an elder, I was hoping he would of been closer to the top of his career. It would appear he is stuck on level 7. confused He has all the duties required to progress and promote done and he has gone to work in the required mood of Focused, yet he isn't getting promoted. I've got items placed around the house that you can enable aura on and some are for focused and a few paintings are for inspired. I'm completely baffled why he won't get promoted. Crying or Very sad

I'm also having a terrible time getting Arya to school in the focused mood. She has all her daily duties complete, does her homework everynight after school, but without sending her to school in the required mood, I'm afraid she'll be stuck at a C grade forever! Mad

All in all, I have enjoyed playing this family even with all their challenges and issues. Wink  giggle

Edit: I have also decided that I'm not going to release Emmet or either of the girls out into sim space, I'm keeping them all right at home. Which means the house is going to become bigger as each one marries and has their own children. Well that's the plan anyway. Laughing

You can use the potions as needed for required moodlets. In one of my families I had not figured out how to place the Mood enhanced reward items. So my child (who had to be Energized) would take a brisk shower, become energized then walk thru the living room and become Inspired before she got out the door to school.

Great update MJ ... I also used the "brisk shower" and "thoughtful shower" for my child just before school ... I don't know why Zest isn't getting promoted though hmm
