Meet Summer Rayne 2.0! Recreated from the Rain in my Shoes challenge here in Sims4.

Summer Rayne left Starlight Valley and headed over to Oasis Springs. Once there, she found a beautiful lot. It was larger and in the neighborhood where she plans to spend her legacy once she makes her million.

Unfortunately buying the lot in the nice neighborhood wiped out the last of her Simoleans, so she once again has to start over.

The first thing she tries is fishing at a nearby pond. It was a hot and frustrating experience. She didn't catch anything, not even a boot, but learned a little bit here and there regardless.

Then she headed to the town park. There she found a few people to talk to and, even better, some abandoned tofu dogs to eat.

In a little room in the park were a few couches and a guitar! She had to pawn her old guitar on her move over, so she practiced. Boy was she rusty! It was like starting over again.

To dig up some money, Summer begins digging up fossils and treasures.

All that hard work, however, ultimately takes it's toll.

It was really hard work, but at the end of two days of digging, scrounging for food, napping on benches and couches, and showering at the gym, Summer has her $500 entry fee to begin her music career.

Now hopefully she can get her mood up enough to find a job and go to work. She has a career to build! Her aspiration is to be a Rock Star!

With Summer's hard earned cash, she first buys a slightly better than basic bed. First night's sleep she's had since she moved into Oasis Springs!

After she wakes up refreshed, she runs to the gym for a shower and across the street to grill up some dogs.

Clean, but still hungry, she sits down to eat and Ahmed Smart (townie) joins her and they have a nice chat over hotdogs. The start of her first friendship in the desert.

Feeling the best she has in days, she takes out her phone and signs up for a career in Entertainment. She'll specialize in music.

Knowing that she has a long ways to go, she practices. Best way to get more funds is to excel at her new job.

Good luck Summer!

(Man this is a challenge! I like it.)

She face-planted a few times that first week. It was so hard to get rest. The sofa in the park house attracted other Sims to the radio which woke her up. The park benches barely let her get any rest at all.

Progress!

Summer did get that promotion with her 4 new friend's help. With the little bonus she received, she started to put up some walls, finally!

Her second promotion came fairly quickly after the first one. She was able to add the last walls and add a roof over her head.

She also made progress in getting to know Scott. They met in town quite often and hung out at the park or Rattlesnake Jake's.

Summer turned adult during work one night (totally snuck up on me!) and she felt that no time like the present to plan to settle down. She started to flirt more with Scott and invited him out on a date, which was successful. In reward she received a single red rose. How romantic!

Their romantic relationship built much more quickly than their friendship did, however they are BFFs as well as romantically involved.

After they were boyfriend/girlfriend, Summer invited Scott to move in. Scott sold his place and with the proceeds they were able to build a comfortable home.

One evening when Summer was feeling flirty, she pulled out her guitar and serenaded Scott.

After she was finished singing and a few hugs and kisses later...

They are engaged! They married in a quiet ceremony right afterwards. Time to make a baby!

Has anyone figured out how to tell time or count the days? I have no way of doing that...

The closest I have come is to keep track of bill day and mark it down.
Or in my case I am watching the days to age up. I have discovered there are 20 days each for the YA/Adult stages. And approximately 20 days ... more or less of the Elder stage. I think 13 days for Teens and need to double check child stage.

You're doing well, I panicked when the love of his life turned out to be only 10 days away from elder - no time to waste then!

Bab(ies!)

Summer and Scott wasted no time in starting a family. Scott's lifetime wish was to become a legacy father, so he was happy to jump right in and do his part.

It didn't take long until Summer was showing...

Scott seems to have a hidden neatness trait. He is always tidying up something. Trash, dishes, and never fails to make the bed. He does not have a career. He and summer decided that he would be at home to raise the children while Summer continued with her music career. He paints and sells paintings to supplement their income.

Summer went into labor! First thing she did was post about it on Facebook... Then she ate a sandwich and took a nap.

But finally...

Scott's got more kid raising then he bargained for! Meet Solomon (first born - boy) and Serena Rayne!

Raising Kids is Work!

Scott indeed had his hands full. He and Serena both took turns feeding, cleansing, cooing over the babies.

Before you know it, they are grown up. Solomon is Rambunctious and Athletic.

Serena is a Thinker/bookworm. You have to catch her early after school in order to help with homework or it's done.

Scott is not the only one who gets worn out by all the children's tasks... I thought this was so cute!

I felt like everyone was running out of time, so I had Summer buy and drink a Fountain of Youth potion. Then I wanted Scott to have one. He had to get 450 lifetime points before his birthday in 1 day. I kept fulfilling wishes. It was a close call, but now both parents are re-set to adult! Whew!

Scott adores being a dad. It's so much fun to watch him. I'll see if I can max his lifetime wish.

Here he is working on reading to child for three hours. Good thing she's a bookworm and wants to be read to for 3 hours. It all works out!

Note: I'm so busy wrangling 2 adults and 2 kids I forget to take screenshots!

Home Improvement

Scott sold a masterpiece for $4500 Simoleans. With that they were able to add a second MUCH needed bathroom and a second bedroom so the twins could have their own room. Pics below:

The views from this house are beautiful.

The last set of bills were $957. Yikes. I try to have $1000 on hand but often I spend down to the penny. I've had the electricity turned off a few times.

Floorplan. I think next time I have some funds I'll move Serena's room closer to Solomon's and have the master bedroom in teh back corner, that way Serena and Solomon can share that little bath. Didn't think of it until I looked down from the top to take this picture.

Aging On Up!

Before you knew it, it was the twin's birthdays. Scott baked two cakes and had to have Summer bake a third. Don't let people take a piece of cake before you add candles...

Both had a solid B average. Teenhood is already looking like they will be making A's. I may have made it to an A with 1 kid but not with two.

Aging up with the cake, here was no fanfare. I'll have to figure out the cake thing later..

Solomon aged up first, being the eldest. He is now Friend of the World Aspiration, Athletic and Outgoing. Doing well in school, too.

And can I just say he's really handsome! Blue eyes from mom, dark hair from dad, pale skin from mom, bone structure from both of them. He is beautiful!

Serena looks so much like Summer I had to give her different hair to tell them apart. Here she is in her jammies without make-up. She's a Computer Whiz and added Genius to her Bookworm trait.

Scott took the kids to the park in Willow Creek to meet people. They had a great time and then ate hot dogs together. Mom was at work. Her hours are late.

After I don't know how many paintings sold, we could finally afford a piano so that Serena could advance her career further. She immediately sat down and worked on the 3 levels she needed. Now after the weekend she should advance.

Now that the kids need less supervision, Scott is thinking of joining the painter career. He's already level 8 in painting.
