Thanks ladies, I'm surprised I'm still in the game with this family. Only two power shutdowns, and no social worker so far.
The latter is a miracle really. I tend to neglect what doesn't jump into my face. My sim4 babies are on blue backgrounds (at the littlel icons) more than should be good for them.

@daisy: The double layer 'black and white' as well as a 'white and black' is a gourmet cooking recipie. don't remember which level, shouldn't be too far up, because my sim reached only a few levels.
You can put candles on any cake there is, I think that is really cool.

Well shucks, I missed that. My level 10 Gourmet cook is gone now. I thought she had cooked all recipes but I see she did not.

"hey, Adrianne where is the fancy cake to go with that?"

Love following your story. high five

Re: Cakes
Basic cakes are at beginning level.
My first Sim that tried (at Zero or maybe 1 cooking skill) to bake a Hamburger cake caught the house on fire.
I think the Black and White / White and Black cakes are available with the 1st Gourmet Cooking level.

Le: I just saw an updated random trait generator.
Links are on The Sims Legacy Challenge site.
Major updates to the Random Trait Generator are now live!

I will have to check next time I play a chef. Nobody in the family is anywhere near that level now. Rolling Eyes

PostSubject: Re: lionpaws Pinstar Legacy [Girls, Girls, Girls - and finally: It's a Boy!]   Mon Oct 06, 2014 7:37 am

Thanks ladies for following this.
I had to take a break with the legacy and feel myself into building with the Sims4 game.
I'm not quite sure I like building in this game.

Thank you EQ for the link to the new generator.
I have a shortcut to that now on my desktop. (... and a list of the parents' traits next to my keyboard)

And here a new episode from the 'silvery' life:

Hermes died, without finishing his career. Now Ares is head of the family. Actually he was for a few days already, but liked to sneak out of his responsibility, leaving it to his dad.

It's Ares (sitting) and Achilles now. Achilles grew up young adult and gained the Neat trait.

And it is Achilles, who spends hours on end at the family graveyard mourning.

Ares' mind is occupied with other things ... Whistle
(Their outfits cracked me up.)

The girl's name is Kiera
She hangs around the house more often than not. Ares likes her very much and wouldn't mind to put their relationship on solid ground. But Kiera has the 'noncommittal' trait; and he respects her too much to press for something she wouldn't feel comfortable with.

After long discussions Kiera accepted to move in with Ares and his brother, as his girlfriend.
Ares is happy enough.
Bestselling Author - Muser
Noncommittal – Self assured - Geek

And soon Kiera is pregnant with generation 4. I hope it is a girl this time.

It is! Meet Demeter! And Achilles is as happy with the baby as her parents. he takes good care of the girl, when Ares and Kiera are busy with other things.
(With the new trait generator I will roll her trait and child aspiration when she grows up.)

Demeter grew up to be a 'Social Butterfly'
and gained the cheerful trait.
(love her outfit)

A brother was born: Iason.
He also became 'Social Butterfly' but with the geek trait.
(so cute!)

Have fun, see you soon BlowingKiss

PostSubject: Re: lionpaws Pinstar Legacy [Girls, Girls, Girls - and finally: It's a Boy!]   Tue Dec 09, 2014 5:01 pm

After a long absence from my Sim4 legacy family I returned to them and played a bit more.

I decided scoring will no longer be a goal for me in this. I find it hard to achieve more than one goal for my sims in their lifetime, mostly they come out with either their aspiration or their career completed. That is since I play normal lifetime span.
All the other possibilities to earn points are getting me confused much and are hardly something I can concentrate on besides keeping my sims well and alive. I love my sims, won't harm or - forbid God - kill them.
So it's mainly down to having them reach the top of their career and have fun with them.

Generation 3 has reached childhood: Demeter (heir) Cheerful - Social Butterfly; and Iason Geek - Social Butterfly
The boy seems to be a little contradictious. We'll see how that works out.

Demeter is doing OK in school, I'm busy with the adults keeping the house in order and maintaining a small garden. Achilles, Ares brother stayed with the family to help out and never had a chance to live his own life on his own turf. But he is happy enough with Ares and Kiera's kids.

Demeter slept in the tub while taking a bath, so cute!

Iason and his uncle Achilles, who finally took on a job in the culinary career.

Demeter grew up a teen and gained the Self Assured trait and the Party Animal aspiration

Kiera died. To my surprise nobody had an overly rough time of grief. She had no job and didn't reach her aspiration goal Bestselling Author.
You may say a total failure, but she did work hard to keep the house and garden.

Ares did, after many days of work, reach the top of his career: Parton of the Arts. He's way in his elder age though.

The house was improved with a porch and a swimming pool - the private graveyard has trees now.
I noticed that the gravestones that were put before the ghost patch have lost their assignments. No big loss though.
Demeter met another teen Paul Kates whose family (household "kates" by Zaden1) I moved from the Gallery to Oasis Springs. (I also added the households "Model" by Betta72 and "Poduska" by zprinkels13 to renew the gene pool of my save.)

Iason hit teen age, he's ... well ... he gained the Hates Children trait and for aspiration: Successful Lineage  Suspect

Demeter had her birthday and became BFF with Paul.

On to Generation 4: Demeter - Party Animal (Gregarious) -- Cheerful - Self Assured - Geek
She chose the Tech Guru career

One night she met her ghost mom and asked her about the otherworld. They are still friends.

Daddy Ares followed his beloved wife quietly. And it happened where all the important stuff happens, in the smallest room of the house, the bathroom!

Achilles was very close to his brother. After his death he stood beside himself, didn't really much care about anything anymore.
(Dressed in the darkness of his grief.)

Iason finally grew up: Successful Lineage (Domestic) -- Geek - Hates Children - Lazy
You may pout all you want, man. I'm so happy I don't have to play you and kick you out of the house.
Bye-bye; see you cope on your own.

Paul moved in. He and Demeter had a private wedding.

Paul: Musical Genius (Muser) -- Art Lover - Goofball - Music Lover

And I have to end this with the last person of the third generation leaving this sim world to join his brother and sister-in-law in the ghostly realm.

We are down to only Demeter and her new husband Paul now. But there is hope, I saw her running for the bathroom ... there might be Generation 5 on its way already.

So much for now, happy simming everybody!

I feel the same way about scoring gameplay especially with a Legacy. It is hard for me to keep track of everything. I have developed a habit of trying to save snips of special moments like Sim achieving certain goals. But that is so I can remember later especially if I decide to share.
Rolling Eyes
I like to pamper my Sims in general but sometimes lose patience with the game generated SIms. Especially if my YA Sim finally finds the Love of their life only to discover they will be Elders in a few days. *Sigh*

I would have done the same especially in a Legacy Challenge.  On the other hand it certainly would create an interesting challenge.

Awesome update lp! Ugh...I too hang my head in shame as I have not opened up my game to play again lately since my last update to my challenge.

I gave up keeping track of the score thing a long time ago, like right at the beginning. Ha HA My normal game play is with age set as high as it will go, so with doing this at normal life span has proven to be a challenge for me. giggle If I remember to, I will look to see where I'm at in the challenge financial wise and check on age span. With Emmett nearing YA-hood in about 5-6 days, I do plan on jumping in game here one of these days and play another family who's little girl happens to be one of his best friends. I think she may be getting added to the family provided I can age her up quick enough. In my options I have it set to where only my sims I'm playing age but everyone else isn't, well except for NPC's. That was the problem I ran into with Zest, luckily though he isn't much older than Lucy.

Hello my friends!

First of all Thank You for following my story. I was neglecting my activity on this forum - shame on me.
Now I caught up with most of your stories and have a few pictures piled of my legacy's generation 4.

Here comes h update: Slowly Going South?

So we left with the hope of Demeter expecting.

Woah! she's all ready to pop the baby! Boy or girl? I need a Greek God name for the first born ...

... Athena for a girl ... and whooot! it's a boy ... think think think ...
Hephaistos!

Paul is very very happy to be a father.

Time flies by - Hephaistos grows up an Art Lover with the Whiz Kid aspiration

"Can these eyes lie, mom?"

Heph barely made it through elementary school - meeting his child aspiration goal? - forget it!
But he thinks he's the coolest guy ever - didn't change when he grew older:

Chief of Mischief -
Art Lover - Self Assured (what else!)

Demeter hit Elder and Paul tried to cheer her up with his amazing guitar skills.

Hephaistos loved working on his mischief skills. It didn't take him long and he could buy a vodoo doll. As soon as the option popped up it was ordered and delivered.
The favoured victims for his dark humor are his aunt Marie Kates and his uncle Iason
Marie is tough, she dislikes Hephaistos, but brushes off most of his voodoo attacks.

Uncle Iason is a different story: he walks in every single one of Hephaisos' bad jokes, poor guy!
But quite convenient for our boy's aspiration.
He's always at the park when Heph is out there hunting for victims.

While I was busy with our youngest legacy member, Paul met the end of his promissing career:

He was level 8. paul is no quitter thogh; He started over with a different company at level 5.
All that trouble gave him a bunch of grey hair:

... and backaches!

Demeter's time has come.
I think Grim was a little too enthusiastic about reaping her. Could it be he's taken a dislike in my family???? Though it's his business, he mustn't show how much he likes it. It may have a devastating effect on those left behind. Someone should tell him!

Demeter didn't fulfill her aspiration and left her career at level 9.

Hephaistos made it through his teen years without getting dispelled from school; a miracle in its self.
I told Paul it would be wise to give him a birthday cake, nobody wants to deal with a sad/angry mischievious head of the family.
Especially since Paul is the only family left in the house!

Hephaistos: Chief of Mischief - Dastardly
Art Lover - Self Assured - Music Lover
And of course he picked the shady career of a criminal.

Paul was struggling with his new attempt in the music business. To advance he is required to write jingles, but the option didn't pop up anymore. Frustrated he just quit his job.
There's a garden to be tended and a house to be run.

Have fun! See you soon.

PostSubject: Re: lionpaws Pinstar Legacy [Girls, Girls, Girls - and finally: It's a Boy!]   Thu Feb 05, 2015 6:07 am

@BG: It's not that he wouldn’t make enemies left and right, he's still adorable.

@Gram: I'd say you pronounce it as you read it. There’s not much you can do wrong. Since I started this legacy with Zeus the most high of the Greek Gods, I just stuck with the Greeks. The heirs all have god(ess)'s names and the spares go with half gods and hero's as far as possible. I decide on the names as soon as the panel pops up to name the baby. Sometimes I pause the game and take a walk around the house to come up with an appropriate name. LOL.

So yes, Generation 5 is up Hephaistos is turning more adept being head of the family than I first thought.

Hephaistos - on solid grounds again

The house had been emptying over the last months. Hephaistos, now a young adult went to the park more than stayed at home. His thoughts circled around one thing constantly, he wanted a nice girl to love and behold. A loving family was his deepest longing, although he would never admit. With his reputation and his habit to throw people off finding someone who'd accept him wasn't an easy task.
Several girls fell for his good looks, but he smashed quite a few tender feelings along the course.

This young lady here, Maura Kenny proved to be tougher than she looked.
Maybe it was their common interest in music that kept their feelings growing...

But then, she is a little crazy too. And turns out that her trait family oriented is just what Hephaistos was looking for.

A deal's a deal. Paul stands by the side gratefully seeing his son happy for once.

Maura Kenny
Master Mixologist - Essence of Flavor
Music lover - Family Oriented - Bro

But no sim comes without a flaw: as soon as I sent her to mix a drink, to get started on her aspiration goals, Maura abandoned the bar and rushed to the grave yard in the back of the garden. I tried tenths of times; the sight of the bar seemed to have that effect on her. So I stopped torturing her.

Hephaistos doing well on his job, managed to turn her thoughts about the family towards the future. Maura was more than happy with that.

And she was not the only one. Heph took a little slack with his job, spending more time at home pampering his wife.

Sadly Paul passed before they dared to tell him the good news.

But Grim was kind enough to soothe Maura's worries about it, promising her Paul would return in time.

And sure as hell, as soon as little Dionysos was born GhostPaul showed up to greet the new family member.

Hephaistos, handsome as ever, stepped up his career again. But soon he and Maura were sharing a sweet secret again.

This was Dyonisos reaction, when Maura told him:

Adorable!
DionysosOutgoing
child aspiration:  Social Butterfly

TWINS! I'm so happy! A boy and a girl:

we had one crib (the yellow one) and see where the second materialized: in the bathroom????
And no, - Maura gave birth in the living room.

This are Perseus and Persephone

More will be coming up soon, I'll send them to go camping, and they will be the first to try out the new GP for me.
Have fun!
