Is is just me? I think it is a royal pain in the fanny to have to build in rooms. It is causing me all sorts of problems. I don’t like it at all. I like being able to adjust window heights but we cannot rotate them from what I have seen yet and some are going in backwards. I have a frieze inside the house that there is no way to get rid of so far that I can find unless I demolish that section of the house. Thank goodness we can move the whole house as I have had to move it a few times already. I could have had this house done in 3 an hour ago. Not happy. I like that there are the curves and some of the things, but overall this is far more complicated than any of the prior games.

End of rant.

Gorgeous house, even if it is aggravating. I have not done a lot of building yet. I am too busy playing my newlywed couple.

Your house looks lovely. First appealing shot from Sims 4 I've seen. Love the rounded edges.

Thanks! I did a little, simple house and it was not too bad, but that other one, yikes. Not fun.

I'm using . , on my keyboard to turn the windows. Perhaps I should find my way to the norwegians forums to figure out some of the controls.

It's not that hard to build with rooms, but a few things just isn't possible, and sometimes I have to add rooms I delete later just to make the game do as I want. I made three videos, if you don't find me too boring to listen to: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLOePEChPB4TxPADcOYNaxa6sjis8beTuL

Glad you are not giving up on your first house. It looks very promising. Your second house is adorable!

I kinda like plopping down an empty room and then adjusting the walls. Especially on the 2nd floor, right on top of a roof. Cool No tearing down. I do miss the tilt action though and really hate it when my mouse doesn't 'mind', which is a lot of the time. All the pulling back, zooming in, turning around to get a good angle is tiring and time consuming.

Sure is timeconsuming. Sometimes it suddenly start working and I have no clue why. That's just equally annoying.

The controls for the camera in tab is located around W A D Z, and then Q and E, and a bit of X, and C to take a picture. They are around that area, I just keep forgetting them and just end up trying my best.

I didn't know where to put my question so I hope this is the right place Big Grin

Sometimes I build "real life" houses - but the proportions aren't always right even though I measure. So my question is: How long is a single wall piece in Sims 4?

Perhaps it's because I'm from Denmark and we use meters and centimeters and the game is American and you use feet and inches.

Hmmm I presumed the proportions in Sims 4 were the same as Sims 3
Not sure if anything here will be helpful but here is a collection of links related to building.

Thank you so much for helping me EuphorialQueen and Mamajanaynay. I think the result was: Measure with your eyes because the furniture etc wouldn't fit RL standard furniture measurement anyway. Crying or Very sad

Ahhh. Yeah. I have found it difficult to build by blueprint in both Sims 3 & 4, because of that very reason. For the most part I try to make it as similar as possible. I have found that by building the blueprint room by room and adding the furniture in as I go along has helped, that way if I need to enlarge or shrink it I don't have to worry about destroying the whole lot and starting over.
