ROFL Oops! is right. That is too funny. Good story. I like the challenge, seems pretty sensible. Can your Sims pick up the sunshine the flowers from the greenhouse spawn? Does the world have to be original without any changes to it? Not really important, I guess. Anywho, this is a cute story.

Per the > Rules < it just says to create a new game file:

Pinstar wrote:
Create a brand new game file. You will be using this file exclusively to play your Legacy Challenge. You may use an existing game file, but your Legacy family must immediately become the “Active Household” and not cease to be active for the duration of the challenge. You may select any neighborhood.
Since there are so many additions to the game I always edit the town before I play anyway.
I verified consignment stores are allowed so I made sure to use one with a gem cutter.  I also added the Artisan thing and some easels to the library. In Lucky Palms there is that open courtyard in the library which is pretty much empty. So I added roof tiles and a couple of chess tables and an assortment of musical instruments making it the perfect spot for a Jam session.

Gameplay Tip: Level 10 Handiness allows for a generous discount when building.
A wall usually costing 70 Simoleons/section will only be 53 Simoleons at discount. I built the minimum necessary for this family. Then I had Hester and Darren racing to see who could get level 10 Handiness first.
Hester won and building on the main house has begun! The existing building will be like a guest house and a place for crafting and such.

My goodness you've come so far! I am giggling myself silly. I love your Oops blurbs too....do you have the mosaic remover mod thingy or are they completely naked due to it being a career outfit? I've never had a werewolf toddler...that is adorable that she practices hunting!

Your captures are wonderful!  applause

Don't have that Mod. Darren had taken a shower so should have been regular outfit.
Hester's was definately career related. Even had her change to career outfit and still nothing. *giggle* Really nothing.... no clothes at all. I used Edit in CAS to give her a more suitable outfit. She just aged to Adult so I was not worried about accidentally rsetting her age.

Very interesting info. I didn't know about the handyness discount. And I love the idea of using the original house as an additional building instaed of integrating it into the main house.

Good story. Fun read!  applause

Oh, does it reset their ages when you edit in CAS?

Thank you ... glad you like the story. I had forgotten as well. I was reminded while playing my RIMS save. Hope I can share a few more tips along the way.

I'll have to remember that. It might come in handy.

From 'Nuthin' but Lawn' ... to a one room garage size hovel to the current WIP. The smaller building in the back started with everything in one room including the toilet. Since Darren is an Artist I plopped down the small Art Studio Blueprint in build mode. I replaced the more expensive wallpaper and outer siding with the 4S variety to save a few Simoleons.
A few slight revisions with second floor and a bathroom and finally ready to lay out the foundation. After Level 10 of the Handy skill was reached the real building was started in stages.
Humble beginnings
To WIP of the main house.

This is the core of the main homestead.... the kitchen and dining area.

Winging the design as I go. Now I am trying to figure out a workable floorplan to allow decent bedrooms and such. I also had to add a fence with the Celebrity Security gate. Even locking doors to allow only household I had the paparazzi running amuck in my house!

Trouble in Lucky Palms
Glitches galore have plagued the Goode family but I am working thru them.
First came the Mirror routing issue.  Telling Sim to Gussy Up or Check Self Out would send them to the curb where they would stomp and complain. They could be standing right in front of the mirror and this would happen every time.  Tried everything except starting from scratch.... {No ... just no!}
Decided I could work around that glitch then the beds started ... action would just cancel out.
No relax... no nap ... no sleeping.  Leading to very grumpy sleepy tired Sims.
I saved a copy of this save to my desktop so I could test some ideas. Then I deconstructed the house and sold everything except the Bonus Fridge from the Chef career.
(Thank you Hester  Big Grin  )
I used the phone to move my family in game to another lot. I put up one wall with a mirror and it worked!
 cheers
Making sure the lot was level I replicated the original lot to resemble the picture previously.
Everything seemed Ok ... then Full Moon time and Darren and Helaina were stuck for the longest trying to transform into Werewolf form.   Suspect   rant
A couple of Potent Cure Elixirs later and No More Werewolves.
I decided that since Helaina and Hyrum were Young Adults I would send them to Uni for the funds... Uh I mean for an education to get a better job. Off they went ..... but then .......
rant
GLITCH!!
They landed at Uni and I picked a dorm {they both need friends/Charisma) and was not able to click the select button so I could move them into ANY lot on Campus.
 VikgAxMad  Ninja
Exit without saving..... go back to the new lot and save to bin ... family and all.
Open another Lucky Palms and place lot in the new save.
Save with new name..... Mirrors still send Sims to curb but Helaina and Hyrum are working on week two of their degrees.

Picture Spam!
Inseparable
Proud Momma
Who is this old lady?
Will you still love me when I'm old and grey ?
But ... of course!
Darren is at the top of the Actor career.  This is one of his costumes.
Wonder of he played the good guy or the villain.
Might as well "put a ring on it" before going off to Uni. Engaged!
Protest!
That must be a really good book... this lady did not even put it down for the picket sign.

About now my Eyes (I s) are crossed and Ts are dotted. Please forgive the spelling errors above which I will edit later.
Note: Though some of the things I have done ... and probably will have to do later ... are outside the rules of Pinstar's Legacy Challenge. I still plan to continue to follow the spirit of the challenge and do my best to get to 10 generations.
Carry On Generation Two .... Your fate and Generation Three lies ahead.

You poor girl! having all that trouble with glitches!

That's one reason why I don't play a legacy on one single lot anymore, the glitches and lags become worse in later generations.
I refer from using any mods, even master controller and co.
Another thing I found out: Altering world rabbithole lots may provoke grafic glitches.

Wish your goodes all the best and Keep my fingers crossed. Smile

Great story!  Smile

Did some testing today and have come to the conclusion this family may be corrupt.
 tongue   confused   hills
I have a copy of Hesper, Darren, Helaine and Hyrum saved as a family in my Sims bin.
They are also saved with their house. Put them in a brand new Lucky Palms *Ambitions lots added.
They still go to curb when supposed to go to the mirror.
Evicted family.
Put the original copy of just Hesper (as a household) on the lot ... same result.
Merged Hesper (original - alone) with another LP household. That family routes just fine but NOT Hesper.
Pondering what to do next.
The Goode Legacy WILL continue.  Just need to figure out how.
