PostSubject: Doomsday Virus Challenge   Mon May 05, 2014 7:26 am

Well, I managed to break my game by putting too much CC in, so I've had to do a complete reinstall. I lost my zombie challenge game, and my Winterfell build, and quite a few other games I've done over the last couple of months.  It seems to be ok now, although is bizarrely taking longer to load, and sometimes grass isn't rendering properly. I may have to do a refresh before starting this challenge, as I really want to get this one done.

This is the one I've chosen to do - it's a Doomsday Challenge. IF I manage to get through this first part, I'm hoping to go on and do Parts II and III. This might turn out to be a very long thread, or it might be very short! I wanted to do a survival one, and this is similar to the zombie challenge but not quite the same!

I am always interested in a new challenge.  Do you have a link to share?

Never give up! Never surrender!!!!

This looks really cool! I've always wanted to play with Vector and just haven't had the opportunity to. Are you going to use it?

Either way, can't wait for updates and I wish you luck!

Yes, EQ - click on the word 'This' in the first post and it will take you there. Let me know if that doesn't work, but I just tried it and it took me straight there - they're all under 'Survive this!' Challenges on MTS.

I've just fitted Vector - and people are already starting to drop from the Burning Sim disease, so it's going to be really interesting. Just for added drama - these Sims are my family-selfsims! I asked them whether I should do it, and they said yes! (Well, my daughter did at least!) I'm actually a little bit nervous about how I'm going to handle it if we die!

Sometimes I am so blind. Yes the link works .... I just did not realize it was there.

I rarely play Simselves because it just gets a little weird.
Made my family as Sims for a group project once. My Simself was given the LTW to reach level 10 in 3 skills. Nothing in her traits to trigger any specific career.
First you need to know I retired from a 30 year career in Nursing. Can you imagine my shock when Sim-Me wanted to go into the Medical field? I was creeped out. Have not played that family since then.

haha - yes, it is funny when real life things come up - my husband always gets the 'join film career' as he always has the LTW to be a director (he's a video editor in real life) and I generally get the writing or music LTW's as I'm a music teacher, but studying an English degree, so that generally comes up - I haven't played 'us' in a while though, but I thought it would be funny for a challenge. I find it gets a bit weird when the children have grown up and you switch to them - I can never watch when they get a bit of woohoo on! Smile And I have got to the stage where my daughter's been expecting her first baby, but not any further. I just want to see if we can get through a major disaster together! And as you'll see, there's quite a lot of us!

PostSubject: Week 1, Day One   Thu May 08, 2014 12:48 pm

Well, we made it one piece to Barnacle Bay - we haven't met anyone yet really, but the journey went well, and the movers unpacked everything brilliantly. Here's some snaps I took - Gino on the porch, and me testing out the bass on the porch. Lucy loved her room so much she spent quite a long portion of the day painting in there! William of course, was straight onto the computer, and Ozzy had fun in his room dressing up as a dinosaur. Reuben was quite tired out from the journey, so he was really glad to get to bed!

Once we'd got the kids to bed though, Gino and I settled down to watch a bit of 'Orphan Black', but there was an emergency news bulletin. Apparently there's a viral outbreak in Sunset Valley, and it's highly contagious, lethal disease with a high fever that causes death. Many Sims have died and it's spreading like wildfire. Then there was a local bulletin from the Barnacle Bay local tv. They're advising people to stay in their homes until further notice. Schools are closed, and all offices and shops are closed too! I'm now really worried - I didn't bring much food with us, as I thought I'd be able to get some tomorrow!

Still, perhaps we're less at risk on the island?! I hope this doesn't last long - I remember when they quarantined us for swine flu- and that was 3 weeks! If we do get a chance to stock up, perhaps it might be an idea to get some seeds to plant - we were going to start a kitchen garden anyway, so there's no time like the present!

What I'm wondering is how to set Vector so that the Burning Sim virus spreads quickly? All I seem to be getting is Simfluenza notices!
