Dear Diary,
Since we didn't get much done yesterday and only couple of days left till Fall, we gardened the entire day and harvested the crops.  We are getting them into storage for winter time.  I'm a bit worried about what we will eat during the winter when the pond freezes over.  So we are putting away as much as possible.

I actually didn't mind working in the rain since I don't get that bath until Saturday!

We didn't have any visitors tonight so I didn't mind working till we were exhausted!

So looking forward to a bit of a slower day, maybe something fun?

Dear Diary,
So today when we woke up - we definitely slept pretty late -Marcus and I discovered we both were a bit stir crazy.  We haven't left the house in what seems like forever!!  We decided that we would spend some quality time together doing something fun! Smile So we had another great game of dominoes and since the radio still works, did a bit of dancing.  It was a nice change of pace from our hard working days in the sun.

It was a lovely day and tomorrow I get to bathe!!!!

Dear Diary,
So today we did more gardening, the plants were starting to wilt even though we had rain the other day.  I think we saved them and I was able to pick our first oranges and apples.  They were delicious!  The bad news was that the tub had sprung a leak!!  Marcus saved the day and was able to fix it.  Seriously - my hero!!

The bad news was right during my bath a Zombie came up right behind the tub and started moaning!  Can't a girl have some privacy!?? I have to say even though it was a short, fast bath - It was amazing to be clean :)I don't feel like I have a cloud of stench following me Wink

Our plumbing seems to be breaking down more and more, the inside toilet is hardly usable anymore, that is a concern....

Dear Diary,
Today I "caught" Marcus reading a "pregnancy" book! How did he know before me?

I have been feeling funny for awhile now and finally figured it out! I'm pregnant. This is so exciting and I'm very hopeful that this pregnancy will go well, odds are against us, but we will manage!

I told Marcus and he was very happy, I know he is nervous though as he started fishing right away. He wants me to eat more Smile

Thanks MerryW!  This is very interesting to play. Some things I've noticed.  #1: I can't get rid of the Stir Crazy moodlet.  Obviously, its here to stay and in the negative impact on mood category.  We can't leave the house until Gen 2.  #2: I'm really nervous about the new baby, I've NEVER had to kill off a sim before!  Yikes!!!  Crossing my fingers for good traits!  #3: Winter and dormant plants!!!!  OMGoodness, I never even thought about weather implications before playing this!  Thank goodness its on the default settings and I think we will make it through.  I've had them harvesting and tending to their garden like their lives depend on it - and it DOES!  #4: I've changed the setting of the lunar phase to be every other day to spawn zombies - alot!  more realistic and when they spawn it is quite creepy!!!  They walk around the lot and moan and complain about not be able to get in.  Nice!

How do you pay the bills?
I would guess if you do not pay the bills the Zombie Repoman would come and take your stuff?
 mummy
If there is no gate can the zombie repoman get in??

Okay this just happened, the repoman (woman in this case) spawned right on the porch, apparently I missed the overdue bill warning - I got the first one and paid it.  So I killed the repoman.  I figured it fit in my story and as soon as I can afford it, I'll get the No Bills Ever LT Reward.  These are some of the things the challenge creator didn't take into account I think.  But for realism I thought my survivors could handle and "take care of" one zombie.  Bad news, I was so freaked out I didn't get any pictures!!!   eeek  eeek  eeek

Do you have the pizza oven from Monte Vista? That should be okay, since it uses fire....or do you need the fridge to use the oven....I can't remember. Did you get the bakery set? The baker's rack seems to keep things from spoiling on my current home lot.

Wow...Zombies every other day.....awesome! Can you use the pea shooters? Not that they do any good.

Ackkkkk....right on the porch! Wow.  eeek  LOL.....too bad about missing the picture but I can just imagine you freaking out. :Giggles to self:

I was wondering.....does the ice cream truck camp out in front of your lot?? Just wait until the mascot pops up or has it already?

Another idea..... Do you have the Cow Plant? If so,buy a row of Cow Plants and sit them outside your fence. Don't feed them and see how many zombies they eat....if you could somehow drag them inside *coughs...build mode...coughs* after they eat the zombies your sims can milk the plant, drink it, and bring their life span back to the beginning of the stage they are currently in.

Nice BG - you are a veritable fount of information!!!  I'll have to try that - I didn't see anything in the rules about Cow Plants (chuckles to self) great photo op too!  I am using ATS's Vegetable Storage Chest. I'm hoping that will keep the food during the winter.

I'm not sure if a stove/pizza oven would work without a frig, I know the outdoor bbq didn't.  I've only been able to roast things over the firepit.  I don't think the "creator" took that into account when an outdoor grill was suggested.  I'll try it though.  I'm sure Marcus could handle building an "outdoor" oven! LOL

I've not see the ice cream truck yet, but that would be creepy as all get out!!!  I think I may have turned it off now that I think about it, since it is very odd that it hasn't showed up yet!

The mascot has showed up and stomped around complaining about the fence, he left the basket by the mailbox.  My sims hid in terror at the sight of the Lama Zombie - Terrifying!

Hope to play some tonight - will attempt to get more interesting photos Smile

Fruits and Veges and Fish also store without spoilage in WA Treasure chests. Mayhaps they discovered an old trunk (WA Treasure Chest) in the attic or cellar. No mod needed.
Can you cook hotdogs/burgers on home lot with outdoor BBQ and no fridge?
You can on community lots like parks. This has caught my interest and I will be following.
Funny about the Llama Zombie!

I forgot about the WA Chests - nice! I placed an outdoor grill when I first started, but there were no available actions. So I assumed that you need to frig for the hotdogs/burgers in order for the grill to work. I can't remember if I had options when I had fish in Marcus' inventory?? I'll have to try that and let you know.

Thanks for the interest - its making me want to stick with it!  flower

This is really cute! ( No, don't hit me! I find Zombies terrifying, or used to, but the story is so amusing). What an interesting challenge!

Dear Diary,
Today we noticed that Fall is here!  There is no denying it now.  The leaves are changing and starting to fall.  We must really hurry now and get to harvesting!

I was enjoying the last of the nice weather and decided to garden in my jammies.  Hey I'm pregnant I can do what I want!

You know, I really want a bath - right now!  I will have to get Marcus to fill it....

Dear Diary!
What a night!  I wanted a bath really bad, I just felt terrible and had thought it would make me feel better.  So Marcus went to fill it up for me and noticed the leak! What!?  He saw how upset I was and went to fix it right away.  He also cleaned it the tub.  I apparently needed something to do while I waited so I raked some leaves.

Well, as I was going to get ready to bathe, what do you know - I went into labor!

(Author's Note: After Marcus cleaned the tub, he jumped in before I could stop him.  So he got nice and clean while Cherry's never got a chance to bathe before she went into labor!  Thus why I posted the next picture, think "Tangled"!)

I think it was a typical labor, it seemed to go on forever - But what do I know!  Marcus kept wanting to take me to the hospital - umm NO!!!

(and yes that is Marcus holding his nose!!! He will pay for that, yes he will!)

Then we welcomed Apple Sanborn to this world.  She was perfectly healthy and seems like she will make it through the early stages of  life.  (Apple Sanborn: Loner (Game Picked) & Athletic (Parent Picked) Likes: Grilled Salmon/Black/Rap Music)  We picked the name Apple since I had been eating them so much during the pregnancy, we thought it was appropriate.

Here is me - last of the baby bump.

What a day!

Dear Diary,
I just wanted to record that we were not alone for the birth of our daughter. I didn't want to alert Cherry as she had enough on her mind. That Zombie always shows up - its like she was a paparazzi or something in her other life, she just walks around and around the property! I've been growing some special plants and have thrown the seeds over the fence hoping that they will grow. I think they will help keep my family safe from Them. We shall see....

~Marcus

PS,
I'm blaming my Stir Craziness for getting into the bath first. I don't know what was wrong with me!

Okay, dilemma - the routing on this lot - just sucks!! Would moving the lot to another, flatter section make it better or are you just moving existing problems? I literally have to go into build/buy mode and pick them up and move them - all the time! They get stuck EVERYWHERE. There is also a part of the porch that they go through the wall to tend to the plants on the side of the house by the firepit.

I'm thinking of trying another flatter lot and then moving them to it... its really annoying! But that means I have to re-build the house - again!

Let me link you... BRB.
Are you looking totally empty... no other houses? Or just no population?
Edit: Try one of these....

Quadra looks perfect EQ!! I like that it has some of the same feel (trees, etc.) as Roseward and I can pretend that they didn't move at all. (Since they aren't allowed to leave their Homebase, ya know!)

I was tempted to just rebuild on another lot in Roseward - start from scratch, but I really don't want to waste my time and have it not work out. The lot I've been playing on is my second build in Roseward and it didn't work any better than the first one. I wonder why some worlds have routing issues more than others?!

Sigh!
