Yes, I love the way you've done the piccies too - and HOW do you get your babies to look like babies in baby grows???  Wink I'm guessing it must be a mod from MTS or TSR?

Yes they are mods.  I LOVE them!!  They make the babies looks so much better Smile

I use:
Chisimi's Blush Babe Skin  This skin is available in Default or NonDefault.  I use Default.
Quizicalgin's Little Wisps Hair for Babies
Quizicalgin's Footie PJs for Boys & Girls  I use these with a default footie Mod from Editsim

That's fantastic, Pieta - you've re-introduced me to the world of CC. I'm a bit wary as when I last tried CC on my last computer, I ended up having to reinstall without it all. I have a habit of getting overexcited, installing loads, and then wondering why my poor macbook groans under the strain and then has a tantrum! Smile
I shall just have to be conservative - do you (or anyone else) install just what you need for that game, and then take it out if you switch games and install stuff for that one? Or do you just have one lot of cc in there that stays?

Love the pictures too!

Great work on the sketches for the kids room. It's so funny what they do with the sketchbook.

I stopped using CC altogether even Mods, after I ran into all kinds of trouble, routing and graphical mainly.
Just decided to make it a challange to have things look as best as I can with the given EA stuff.

Okay, I'll confess, I'm a former CC addict and I've blown up many, many a game.  Since I primarily build, I did tend to download anything that would go with the "current" build.  That filled things up fast.  I started getting lots of lag, etc. and then I'd have to do the "re-install". I tried the merging of packages, and that does help.  It's a pain though when you end up with bad cc and have to find it.  And you ALWAYS end up with something that messes up your game.  That was until I found AnyGameStarter by Jonha.  This fabulous tool allows you to have multiple game profiles.  Read the description - it's awesome.  So now I have a CC game with anything I need to build whatever, I don't tend to play at all in this save as it lags terribly.  I have a EA Only save which is only base game.  I have an EA with Store only Game which is only EA Store CC. etc... I have a profile for a contest that I've been involved with that allows no Non-EA CC except CAP.  So that profile has a bunch of patterns that I liked, but no other Non-EA CC.  You can pick and choose which EPs or SPs you want that profile to use.  It's really amazing!!  I highly recommend it.

That being said, I always in any profile, use a variety of NRAAS mods. I highly recommend anything from Twallan's suite of Mods.  They make the game very playable and less buggy.   I also tend to have a lot of CAS CC (hair, jewelry, makeup) in package form so it doesn't get packed with my builds and I can take it out easily if it causes problems. CC hair is so much better than EA's. However, I think lately the hair that they've released in the store has been getting better and better. I love CC makeup too Smile.

Though I have to admit, with this Zombie Challenge, I've been finding myself lookin' around for those shabby items that EA just doesn't have.  Though the castaway set that came with IP has come in handy!   lol!

Yep, I completely agree about the castaway set, and finding NRaas changed my life (a little drastic perhaps, but you get the idea!) - however I've had to do a complete reinstall as I installed something that messed everything up - so my zombie game's gone!
So last night I reinstalled everything - I was up until *cough* 3.30 and so far, so good. Does AnyGameStarter work on macs?  scratch

Yeah, I managed to find it and saw. Sad Oh well. Maybe some day they might bring out a mac version - I can live in hope! Smile
Anyhow, I shall stop hijacking your lovely thread - do keep letting us know how your zombies go. I'm not sure whether I shall do another zombie challenge, a 17thc settlers challenge, or maybe a LTW challenge or the APic challenge, but at least my game seems to be running ok again.

PostSubject: Week 4: End of the Week   Sun May 04, 2014 7:58 pm

Dear Diary,
Well, we wrapped up the week with Marcus' birthday.  I surprised him with a new book and the announcement of a new child.  He took it really well and seemed happy.

He is planning on leaving tomorrow morning to finish up on the new house.  He is going to leave before the children wake so they won't be too upset.  Apple is especially nervous as she knows the risk involved.  So He spent the rest of the day talking to Marcus about life and then had a wonderful pillow fight with Apple before reading to her at bedtime.

When Apple woke the next morning, she was very upset and I found her sitting outside talking to that doll. I mean James!  So I decided to distract her by spending some quality Mother, Daughter time.  We talked about a lot of different things.  It was a wonderful way to spend the day.

Marcus is still not back and Apple spent the day outside.  She was so excited when she noticed a new wildflower growing in the yard.  She went out in the rain to pick it.  She gave it to me and we put it in a vase.  It's lovely - Spring is really here.  Now will be the time to get the seeds for our new garden.  When I woke up I noticed this strange little man statue in my Kitchen!  I have no idea how it got there??!!

I'm really starting to worry......

~Cherry

PostSubject: New House   Sun May 04, 2014 8:15 pm

Dear Diary,
Well, I've found the house and I just know that Cherry will love it.  It actually has 3 bathrooms not just one, but only one will be used.  I think I will lock up the other two.  I've been making some modifications to the bathroom that is going to make my lovely wife's day!!  I can't wait till she sees it.  There is a lot of room, almost too much as it will be hard to heat this winter.  However, I've been able to get the wood stoves that were in the house functional.  There is a fireplace as well.  I think I will be spending my spare time this summer upgrading them to fireproof or we will surly burn the house down!!  My birthday has really affected me, I hope that Cherry doesn't notice!

I got home really late, the kids' were sleeping.  Looks like someone's dreaming of the new house too!

Whew! Glad Marcus made it home safe. Have they found the wild gardens yet? In Quadra there is not a Community Garden but there are a couple in the wilds. One is near the water tower. I would have to check my save to find the others. Wink

I know certain traits cause the cow plant to spit the sims out....did you say you had a mod that fixed that?

The poor cow plants died! Nooooooooooooooooooo....LOL.....poor things. I guess they don't have the taste for decaying flesh...ewwwwwww...LOL.

I can't wait for more....so addicted to this thread  Spinning

I do have Nona's mod for cow plants, but it doesn't seem to be working? I'm pretty sure those plants died from starvation, as they spit out that "woman" everytime! Poor things, I feel terrible.... I've never seen them die before....

I think I may have Marcus plant them again, but we shall see....

PostSubject: Week 5: Many Happenings!    Wed May 07, 2014 9:19 pm

Dear Diary,
Well!!  Where do I start!  The move - yes the move!  Well, Marcus was very excited for us to move.  He found the perfect house and really wanted us to get settled in before the baby and before planting season.  So we packed up everything we could and left very early in the morning.  It was light out of course, but early enough we should be safe.  We saw nothing and no one the whole move.  Which we were very grateful.  I stayed with the children while Marcus made the second trip.  However, the stress of the trip must have been more than I admitted to myself as I went into Labor.  Marcus and Apple kinda freaked out!  After I sent Apple inside to play with Aiden, Marcus & I went into our room for the birth.  We changed, calmed down and because he needs to be busy, Marcus fireproofed the fireplace!  After a long birth, we welcomed Navarre Sanborn.  He is a strong baby with Brave & Athletic traits!  He's a fighter!

After all the drama, we settled in to enjoy our new space.  Did I mention I have a working bathroom - inside!!!  Marcus fixed up a rain water system and we can take shower's when there is enough water.  We also have the Bathhouse outside too.. but this is so wonderful!

I'm sad to say that most of our vegetable stores did not make it and we have very little food.  Marcus harvested some fruit from neighboring trees and that with the fish should hold us over till the plants produce.  Poor Marcus had to plant in the rain, I was busy inside with the children.  Pretty soon Apple will be able to help.  Can't say the rain was un-welcomed though - SHOWER TIME!!

PostSubject: Week 5: Endings - Happy?   Wed May 07, 2014 9:29 pm

Dear Diary,
Well, this week was a full one!  Apple has started fishing with us and she's getting pretty good.

Aiden learned to use the potty and is walking & talking like a big boy.  Time sure flies. Marcus and I have been repairing stuff around the house.  It's really coming together!

We've been noticing that Ice Cream Truck a lot and we find it hard to believe that the Z's can drive.  I wonder who it is?  They don't bother us or even try to talk or shout for us to come out, they just drive by, stop and then move on up the road....  strange!

We finished out the week with a lovely campfire with everyone together.  I've been trying to enjoy these close family times, as I can't imagine they will last forever!

PostSubject: Narrator's Notes   Wed May 07, 2014 9:38 pm

Well, the move went well. We saw NOONE! A couple of things: Aiden got the doll via the mailbox upon the move. However, we lost all the food & seeds that was stored in the chests with the move, so I guess it evens out. I allowed Marcus to unlock the gate and go next door to the orchard. I watched him the whole time so that if anyone came around I would know and thus he would have been eliminated. I actually was really nervous - but NO Cheating!! They really needed the food and he got enough to plant as well. Thank goodness for the pond and the fish which they can eat at the campfire. Since the move to Quadra - in spite of me setting the lunar cycle to every other day, no spawned Zombies! Does Quadra not have that spawner? Should I add it? I wonder if I can even do that? I do have all supernatural types on except for celebrities? I wonder if there is a setting in Mastercontroller that I'm not aware of... I'll have to check into it. It's been pretty quiet without the visitors during the full moon..

Creepy ice cream truck has been the only thing hanging around lately, I'm thinking of using it as a lead into the next generation's requirements. The Military!

So relieved about the baby's traits - I totally lucked out!

I'm all caught up. Glad the move went well. If you move again, don't put the seeds and produce in chests. It moves well if just in their inventory.

I meant to put the chests into the family inventory and I forgot! O'well, added some drama Smile I hope to not have to move again, so far the routing is perfect! No issues.

I learned the hard way... move items to personal inventory before moving.  Put the empty chest in family inventory.
Trust me ~ ~ ~ Yes there ARE Zombies in Quadra... they are game generated and not specific to any world.
Since Quadra is initially unpopulated it will take a while for them to show.

I was SO thinking about that angle. The ice cream truck as a covert surveillance vehicle. Monitoring the population for evidence of further Zombie outbreaks. Or investigating the uninfected looking for a cure... etc etc ...

Did you leave the chests at the other lot? If they were outdoors you could try using the Open command and retrieve the contents. Not sure if that will work on a vacant lot.

I will be patient then! Thanks for the info. Also I just used the Move option with pack furniture. So I have my lovely vegetable chests, they were just completely empty! O'well, live and learn Smile

I used EA's "Kid Friendly, Mother Approved". Locked up the two unused bathrooms and looks like we are good to go. Smile No routing issues at all! Yeah! (crossing fingers (and toes)!)
