Cool  I wonder if you get those options only if you have those items or if the new oven just gives them all to you. Either way - Cool

I have not purchased any Simpoint items in a long time, so I figure I was due. Just got the restaurant AND the dance studio... I need those roof pieces! Smile

And the ultra lounge set is calling my name. I need more modern styles. My Mid-century items are being overused. I'll let my remaining simpoints sit a while as I think about it.

Good question, EQ. Also... Any idea what lot designation you have to use? Does it matter?

I decided to be brave ... and or stupid (silly maybe?) and am trying to build from scratch.
even better I started Barnacle Bay and am trying to build a 50's homage type lot... on a pier...which I am turning into a port. Mind you I have ZERO clue what I am doing.
so I started the lot as a 50 by 50 residential lot built in from the ocean so it is over water.
While it was still a residential lot I build the building and put in the stoves refrigerators & furnishings. It was not until I changed it to a port that I found the menus under Appliances when I was looking for a trash compactor and dish washer.

I still have to test to see if it works. And if I had to make it community how would you use this oven on a home lot? You would still need a menu if you have a home chef... right?

I read somewhere that if you have the wood fire oven you can make pizza's and whatever else the wood fire oven recipes are and add them to the menu and serve them. Not sure about the teppanyaki grill though.

I haven't made any community lots in TS3 so I'm not sure if I want to get this or not... ~~still thinking~~

I had the sushi menu as well. Didn't have any moodlets though, but they look a bit lame with only value for money moodlets.

The mts forum is on a rampage about this set. They are disappointed they can't have ofb. So much anger for a game ... Shocked

... but then EA apparently talks about it being too complicated for their gamers, while others say they didn't have the money for it. I believe the "money talk", "money talk" always sounds so reasonable. I don't wanna believe the complicated arguement, because as someone pointed out other things are far more complicated.

I totally agree.

And/but if EA is saying too complicated for gamers that is total garbage. If they do not want to do a full OFB for 3 that is their option, and just say no, and not BS like that. Now I will need to look at MTS to see what is going on.

Yes totally, different people talk for the company and they may say different things. It may reflect someone's perseption on the gamers, but surely not all the company.

Want someplace to use the new oven?  Try these lots.
The Great American Eatery Pack by ~TLK4EVR

I have a membership there but did not have to sign in to get the file.
It is a Zip file that contains all the lots so you can pick which ones you want..

Oooooooooo....those are neat!

I placed my oven thing-a-ma-gig  on my little partaaay barg.  Garner decided to try it out....minus his third party skin eeek

I set the chef for executive  and he spends his time chopping and mixing in front of the counter. I had to pick the food I wanted the chef to make before Garner could order.  Yep, the menus are in appliances....first thing listed in my game.

cute animations.

I also placed it in my resort fixer upper. Works well.  I have been putting a menu at each place setting on the tables...is that necessary? Or is only one needed? Not sure if she is serving bugs or there are bugs in the resort??? Laughing

The Menu mist be at each place setting to work for all Sims that want to eat using the Chef.

ROFL
That resort does have bugs ie: roaches unless you delete the spawners. I do hope the Chef is not using them to season the food!

Anyone know if that sign (not the one with the house, but the one with the neon arrow) is CC or regular? And if it isn't CC... Where the heck is it (which SP/EP)?! I've been looking for something like that!

The Neon sign should be base game under Community Objects.

I've been hunting for it for ages and I haven't found it yet.  Any idea which EP/SP it came with so I can filter down?

(the curse of the "complete the set" discount is that it takes an hour to find anything with all that stuff!  haha)

*FINALLY* found it (and I should have read your comment more closely EQ! You *did* say base game.... doh!)...
