Moving Out and Setting Up House

Sophia Moore had her adult birthday back in Hidden Springs.

Sunlit Tides Moore Legacy Scree170

As usual the party was a smashing success attended by mostly her family. After she aged up into a horrendous outfit, she ran to the mirror and whipped up a new hairstyle.

Sunlit Tides Moore Legacy Scree171

Now Sophia is a bit of a geek. She is eccentric, bookworm, genius, handy, and excitable. So she wears mostly t-shirts and jeans and has an easy hairstyle of a loose braid. Her books and inventions are more important to her than fashion!

Sophia felt that she needed a change and wanted to strike out on her own. She was also tired of the cold weather, so with a goodly chunk of Moore family funds, she bought a house in Sunlit Tides. It is right on the beach with beautiful views.

Sunlit Tides Moore Legacy Scree172

She's here and ready to get started on her career.

Sunlit Tides Moore Legacy Scree173

The summer festival was going on when she arrived and she met Alonzo the first day she left her house. Sparks flew when they laid eyes on each other.

Sunlit Tides Moore Legacy Scree174

She thought he was hot!

Sunlit Tides Moore Legacy Scree175

And they became friends and even decided to be in a relationship that first day. He agreed.

Sunlit Tides Moore Legacy Scree176

Their first day ran on into the evening and the full moon was out. They grabbed a snow cone before they headed home to their separate houses.

Sunlit Tides Moore Legacy Scree177

Everybody loves snow-cones! Even Zombies!

Sunlit Tides Moore Legacy Scree178

At any rate, Sophia had to do some junking over at the Flotsam & Jetsam Junkyard (newly built for Sunlit Tides).

Sunlit Tides Moore Legacy Scree179

Her career as an inventor was progressing. She even won an award...

Sunlit Tides Moore Legacy Scree180
Which is HUGE and takes up most of the desk!

And she accidentally crafted a gnome...

Sunlit Tides Moore Legacy Scree181

But now and then there are setbacks.

Sunlit Tides Moore Legacy Scree182

One evening Alonzo invited Sophia over to a party.

Sunlit Tides Moore Legacy Scree183

Where he made his feelings known.

Sunlit Tides Moore Legacy Scree184

The next day, Sophia invited Alonzo to move in with her. He accepted. They celebrated in the usual fashion.

Sunlit Tides Moore Legacy Scree185

His career is a Nectar Seller, so they plan to travel to France to pick up some grapes and some wine making equipment and books. There is a garden at the back of the house which would be perfect to grow his grapes, and an ocean right out the back from which he can fish some fertilizer. They both feel like this could work out well.

Meanwhile Bonehilda keeps her teeth sparkling white.

Love new stories and new looks. Alonso does look hot.
Are you planning on sharing the junkyard?
Maybe you could post it in Lots of Inspiration thread.
I am looking for unique junkyard and fire station lots for Sunlit Tides, Lucky Palms and Monte Vista.
I will be lurking.

Thanks, guys. Glad you like the story so far.

I'll upload the lot tomorrow sometime. It is not on level land, since none of the routed areas in Sunlit Tides are totally flat. You'll have to soften terrain around the edges.

The junkyard is fairly simple. Fence, small building with a toilet and computer, a few junk piles, some termite and spider spawners, and an outdoor shower.

Oh and a robot sculpture as a "Sign".

We do need a fire station or two for different worlds. I just plopped down the brick one and called it good in ST.

Setting Up House

Alonzo was very happy living with Sophia and kept throwing up some interesting wishes. Sophia was encouaged by his wish to be faithful.

Sunlit Tides Moore Legacy Scree187

Alonzo and Sophia had great fun in the house together.

Sunlit Tides Moore Legacy Scree188

One thing Alonzo didn't have was a way to make a living. he ws employed as a grape stomper but there were no grapes to stomp. He went to the produce market and bought a bunch of apple trees and grape vines and planted them. He also read up on gardening at the library.

Using some of the money Alonzo brought with him when he moved in, he and Sophia took a trip to France.

Sunlit Tides Moore Legacy Scree189

Sophia sampled the wares at the local nectary. She called it "research".

Sunlit Tides Moore Legacy Scree190

While Alonzo harvested some French grapes to plant in his garden.

Sunlit Tides Moore Legacy Scree191

They bought nectar making manuals and a the required items to make their own nectar at home. Then they both did some adventures in order to pay for this extravagant trip.

Sunlit Tides Moore Legacy Scree192

By the time they sold all of their findings (lots of tiberium and palladium) they had enough money to buy the press and to build a basement to house it.

On the last day of their trip, Sophia had Alonzo dress up in his finest and took him out out to the art museum, and while they were there...

Sunlit Tides Moore Legacy Scree193

He said yes.

Sunlit Tides Moore Legacy Scree194

And they said their vows to each other overlooking the gorgeous French countryside.

Sunlit Tides Moore Legacy Scree195

And we all say "awwwww....".

Sunlit Tides Moore Legacy Scree196

Editor's note:

Alonzo came with the nectar maker's job when he moved in, even though there is no nectary in Sunlit Tides (silly story progression!). I figured I would just go for it, since it is a job I have never played before.

This means I will have two self-employed Sims in the family. I usually mix it up. But again it forces me out of a rut.

IT IS WORK! Lots of gardening, so you need fishing for the gardening for fertilizer, and lots of stomping and mixing and runs to the consignment store. Alonzo is up to level 5 now in his career, and level 6 in nectar making.

Thank GOODNESS for the greenhouse growing thingy. Worth it's weight.

The harvester is sort of a pain but funny to watch the Sim spin around until he pukes.

Oh and in this game I have TWO Sims that are self employed! Sophia is still tinkering away at the workbench as an Inventor. Next time, I'll have one Sim have a rabbit hole career.

Work work work work work work work a la the Gov on Blazing Saddles

Skilling up two self-employed jobs is work!

Many trips to the consignment store and alchemy shop.

Sunlit Tides Moore Legacy Scree215

Tinkering, soldering, the clink-clank of busy hands.

Sunlit Tides Moore Legacy Scree216

The stomp stomp of busy feet. Mmm somebody has been working out!

Sunlit Tides Moore Legacy Scree217

Weeding, watering, identifying seeds, planting, harvesting...

Sunlit Tides Moore Legacy Scree218

And finally a day off to go fish for more fertilizer.

Sunlit Tides Moore Legacy Scree219

Honestly, two self employed Sims are exhausting and poor guys can't do much more than work all day so they have no friends to speak of.

Also the house became a bit inconvenient. There are three garden stations and they are cramped so after waiting to harvest all of the plant varieties Alonzo had, he and Sophia decided to move to bigger house with a much bigger piece of land attached.

Sunlit Tides Moore Legacy Scree220

I lost this house twice when building it. I had save-crashes. So I finally built it on my builder's world and just dropped it. It only crashed in edit town and not all of the time. However, not it's up and running.

Shed style modern home on a 50x50 plot.

Sunlit Tides Moore Legacy Scree221

Sunlit Tides Moore Legacy Scree222

Alonzo is very happy with his new, more spacious garden.

Sunlit Tides Moore Legacy Scree223

And immediately gets busy planting his Renoit grapes. They all come out as perfect.

Sunlit Tides Moore Legacy Scree224

Neither one of them are getting any younger and are edging towards adult age, so they decide it is time to try for baby. They have no idea how they are going to fit that into their busy lives, but will do their best.

Sunlit Tides Moore Legacy Scree225

At least they have Bonehilda (of the shiny, white teeth) to help them out. This Boney loves to brush her teeth. Their habits are so funny.

The self-employed jobs are quite time consuming. During the MYOB challenge it was difficult with four Sims either working in the mine, writing, or inventing. I like your house and hope to see more interior shots.
Good luck with the new digs.

I did take some screenshots of the house.

Alonzo has a harvester but it makes him sick every time. It spins the Sim around, they get a dizzy moodlet, and sometimes get nauseated. Maybe I should have Sophia use hers and see if she has a stronger constitution.

Alonzo has the collecting trait and he gets crazy money for gems. He now has a gem cutter in the basement, and a miner to dig them up with, and a savvy seller reward to sell them. I've got about 41K of cash and make a few thou a week.

They can raise the kids and not worry about skilling up or working for a bit. They don't need to, LOL.

Baby Time!

Sometimes work is not all bad. Alonzo and Sophia had to take a day to go fishing to stock up on fertilizer. However, the perfect apples that Alonzo grows also makes good fertilizer. But the fish are even better.

Sunlit Tides Moore Legacy Scree226

The next day Sophia makes a discovery.

Sunlit Tides Moore Legacy Scree227

And tells Alonzo right away. He is overjoyed. He wants a girl and she wants a boy.

Sunlit Tides Moore Legacy Scree228

The nursery is all decorated and ready to go. (I resisted the new set 1 whole day).

Sunlit Tides Moore Legacy Scree229

And here are some pics of the rest of the house.

Great room with the TV room off to the left.

Sunlit Tides Moore Legacy Scree230

TV Room from the view of the sofa (great room to the left through the arch)

Sunlit Tides Moore Legacy Scree231

Bedroom in Sophia's colors. I thought their dream bubbles were cute and appropriate.

Sunlit Tides Moore Legacy Scree232

Alonzo has super maxed gardening and all of the challenges that go with it.

Everything he puts in the ground now comes out perfect. Perfect plants make for perfect nectar!

Sunlit Tides Moore Legacy Scree233
And yes he sometimes gardens in his underwear.

Sunrise shot of the new house. The sunrises and sunsets are amazing. Same lightshow as in Lucky Palms.

Sunlit Tides Moore Legacy Scree234

And Sophia goes into labor on the Full Moon!

I can't think how many full moon babies this extended family has had now. Dozens.

Sunlit Tides Moore Legacy Scree235

Alonzo would like to introduce you to Samuel Moore. Friendly Genius.

Sunlit Tides Moore Legacy Scree236

Babyhood was barely felt. Back to work for both of them and before you know it, Samuel is sparkling up.

No cake, no fire.

Sunlit Tides Moore Legacy Scree237

And he's a cutie with Sophia's hair color. He looks very much like a Moore.
